Saddlers cottage nestled in sun dappled woodlands, is a comfortable stone and mud-brick dwelling situated on a sheltered ridge 5 minutes walk from the river. The cottage can sleep 2 -3 couples (max. 8 people). The cottage is heated by a large open fireplace, it has a gas stove with large oven for cooking, a fridge-freezer and a large claw foot bath, with shower and flush toilet. Hot water is supplied by a solar-gas hot water system and 240v power by a small solar voltaic system. There is a wood fired BBQ, a small gas Weber can be provided on request during fire ban periods. Saddlers has a small bedroom (with double bed), a sun room (with double bed) and a central living/kitchen area (with pull out futon couch double bed). There is also a fold out double bed on the screened veranda and good camping around the cottage. The cottage is supplied with: 5 double doonas, 4 blankets and 10 pillows. A sample of farm produce (e.g. eggs and flowers depending on season) All utensils (pots, pans, cups, glasses, plates, cutlery) Toaster, microwave oven and espresso coffee maker and plunger Firewood (during winter months) Rental includes one set of linen/towels addtional sets can be supplied for $25 /double (or $5 per sheet or towel) More

We ask guests to not smoke inside the cottage and please dispose of all butts. No guns, motor bikes or 4W driving permitted. Pets allowed with prior permission, but will incur an extra charge ($15/weekend). Please do not stack wood inside the cottage (brings mess and creepy crawlies inside the cottage). Additional firewood $10/barrow. Wood BBQ provided (during fire bans - Gas BBQ available on request) Please leave cottage neat and tidy.

Great place to escape. No phone service, wifi or tv, just a lovely stone cottage and a huge property with plenty of walking tracks. Owners provide eggs from their chooks and a variety of fresh herbs. We had a wonderful time here and are planning...More

What a great escape from social media and straining our heads looking at screens every spare second ;) Stone Cottages are excellent for a weekend or longer get away from the city and enjoy the tranquility of the Australian bush in rustic stone cottages imagining...More

About the neighborhood
The property Gleniston is on the headwaters of the Goulburn River, Upper Hunter Valley, NSW and covers an area of 872 hectares (~2000 acres) including large areas of native forest, woodlands and bushland, with gentle creek flats rising to basalt peaks of grazing country. The Goulburn River is a culturally significant landscape for the local Wiradjuri people, with the listed heritage sites known as 'Hands on Rock' and 'The Drip gorge' less than 5 kilometres away. There is a range of local wineries in Mudgee and a heritage museum in Gulgong.
