A 'Shebeen' was an illegal drinking house in old Ireland.

Holidays like they used to be: games of cricket in the big back yard; evenings spent on the deck having a BBQ; walk to the beach via bush and beach tracks. Only minutes drive to shops, restaurants and attractions

Perfect for two families, large groups, motor sports lovers, fishing and golfing trips.

*** Late Check Out Special*** - ask about 5pm Sunday check out on weekend bookings.

The house is basic so please don't expect 5 star. Clean, comfortable and cosy. We don't have a dish washer. Bed linen is supplied for the two queen and one double beds. You supply (BYO) towels and the linen for the bunk beds ( sleeping bags are handy). This linen can be supplied by arrangement and at extra cost - just let us know. Bath mats and tea towels are also supplied.

We don't live on the Island but are only a phone call away if you need help or have any questions. In an emergency we have supportive friends nearby who can assist you. The keys to the house are accessed via a key safe, which you will be provided the code for, along with full instructions for the house.

This was the worst place we stayed at the place had a musty smell.the toilets were dirty had to clean them before we used them.the fridge was so dirty did not won’t to touch the handle .we found a tablet on the floor in the bed room thank god the dog did not eat it if you had a young...

I am so vexed with this review. As you will see from our other reviews that this is so atypical. I just wish Sharon had contacted me to let me know her concerns. I contacted her a couple of times during her stay but never received a reply so was totally unaware of the problems.

Located 2kms from Cowes town centre. Walking distance to the beach. Clean roomy house with two bathrooms and sleeps plenty of people at a reasonable price. It's only 3kms to the race track where we watch the races every year.

About the neighborhood
Hobsons Pde. is in a quiet street in West Cowes, near Red Rocks Beach and Anderson St Boat Ramp. The street is so quiet, the local children often play cricket or skateboard in the street.

The property backs directly onto to the Cowes foreshore reserve, with an 8 minute walk via bush tracks leading you to the beautiful calm waters of Red Rocks Beach.

Great for swimming, snorkelling, kayaking, canoeing, fishing etc.
Watch out for the wallabies thru the reserve & the endangered hooded plover rookery when you get to the beach.
Getting around
Not great public transport options here. The Grand Prix shuttle bus has stop at the end of the street.

Parking is good, room for three cars in the drive - and in summer it is fine to park on the front lawn. It is a pleasant half hour walk into town along the beach and the Island has a taxi service.

About 1.5-2 hours drive from Melbourne.

Heading into Cowes, turn left at Church Street roundabout. Drive west along Church St for 2+ kilometres. Turn left at Justice Rd (brown tourist sign “The Nobbies, Penguin Parade”).

Then first right onto Hobsons Pde: No. 42 is on RHS near other end.
If traffic is very heavy into Cowes, turn left along Ventnor Rd. or Settlement Rd., then right into Justice Rd.
