Aguts, Tarn, Occitanie
The property lies midway between Toulouse and Carcassonne, amid the rolling hills of the Lauragais, the Pays de Cocagne (the land of plenty!). We live on the edge of Aguts, a quiet little village, with its beautiful church, 12th century castle, magnificent calvary and shady footpaths. The rolling hillsides hereabouts, with stone farm houses and their 'pigeonniers', old windmills and country lanes lined with plane trees and cypresses, illustrate why the area is known as “Little Tuscany”.

Especially beautiful is the month of June, when the heavenly jasmine perfumes the whole garden and poolside. The long evenings and beautiful mornings are not to be missed!

Chante-Colline offers everything one could need for a restful and fulfilling holiday, in a beautiful region of the South-West of France. An entirely new gîte, finished in June...

The owners, Colin and Chantal, are very gracious hosts. The gite is attached to the main house, but remains very private. There is even a private gated entry off the main road. The surrounding countryside is absolutely beautiful. Although we did numerous day trips to...More

The approach along tree lined roads and the warm welcome from the hosts were just the beginning of what was a perfect fortnight of tranquillity and rest. The views are stunning and the sunsets spectacular. There's the pool and the boules court adjacent to the...More

Living rooms
The living rooms are finished throughout to a very high standard and decorated in pale, restful colours. The open plan lounge / dining area has a table and four chairs, sofa-bed, two comfortable armchairs, a flat screen TV with DVD player and a radio+CD player. With the sliding doors into the second bedroom fully open, the area becomes an L-shaped sitting room.

There are independent electric radiators in all rooms and polished terracotta flooring throughout. The gîte is cool during the long, hot summer and cosy out of high season.
Triple-panel sliding aluminium doors lead to the private sunny patio, which is fully tiled and covered by a translucent poly-carbonate roof, so is sheltered from rain and wind. This area, of approximately fifteen square metres, has a mosaic metal...

About the neighborhood
We live on the edge of Aguts, a quiet little village, with its beautiful church, 14th century castle, magnificent calvary and shady footpaths. The property lies midway between Albi, Toulouse and Carcassonne, amid the rolling hills of the Lauragais, the Pays de Cocagne (the land of plenty!). The Lauragais is an area of beautiful rolling hills, pale stone farmhouses with their magnificent “pigeonniers”, ancient windmills and narrow country roads lined with plane trees and cypresses. This area of South-West France is often called “la petite Toscane” but is a lot less well-known than its famous Italian counterpart.
