Outstanding large cottage in a great location.
We were incredibly fortunate to secure Ellie's Place at the last minute due to a cancellation. The house is just wonderful, with large bedrooms and several lounge/family rooms and heating that works very well (necessary in Launceston in Winter!)
We were fortunate to meet the owner, Bronwyn, who was just excellent to deal with, and a genuinely lovely person.
The house feels like a home, and it's clear that there are many personal touches - you don't feel like you're living in holiday accommodation. The house is large for a cottage, although the small parking area behind the house is an exercise for the daring - I recommend it as a two-person job. Having parking in central Launceston is a big bonus, though.
The location is fantastic - right next to the lovely City Park with a playground and monkeys(!) and within easy walking distance of the CBD. There is a supermarket within walking distance also.
Our two kids loved having rooms to themselves and having more than one common area was great, as the kids could have their own space.
You can't go wrong with Ellie's Place, it's awesome.

Great location, lovely heritage house
Great location to explore Launceston near city park. All bedrooms upstairs (not suited for those wanting to avoid stairs), but great large house for families with older kids, or groups away together. Beautifully presented house from late 1800's. Parking during the week a bit challenging (street parking used by many others with 3 hrs limit), but no issue after 5pm or weekends. Great stay with local, proactive owner. Would certainly stay again.

Thanks so much for the lovely review Geoff, we are so pleased you enjoyed Ellie’s Place. We like to maintain the heritage aspect of the property. For those with mobility issue we recommend our other property, Twyford, which is close by in Elphin Road. The unlimited free parking out the front of the house is great as well! We would welcome you back anytime!
Kind regards

Perfect Stay
Excellent location - opposite park and close to all city attractions. The house itself is beautiful, it didn't feel like a 'rental' we felt at home immediately. Thank you to Brownyn and her husband for a great week and attending to our small problems quickly!!

Spacious, well-appointed
Nothing to fault - exactly as described. Full of character, spacious, well-appointed, located in a great spot. Short walk in one direction to a shopping centre and just a walk across a beautiful park to the CBD and its restaurants. Don't miss seeing the Japanese macaque monkeys in the park.

Delightful home
Staying Ellie's place is like staying in a gracious home with an attentive host, the only difference being that you have the place to yourself. The location is great with City Park just across the road. The house is beautifully furnished and the kitchen is fully equipped. With four bedrooms, 2 living rooms and 2 bathrooms there is plenty of room.

A step back in time
Ellie's place allowed for us to step back in time to the 1800's whilst enjoying the modern conviences of 2015. Bron was an excellent host- arrived soon after our arrival pre-arranged to collect the full payment. Ellie's only allowed for cash transaction of deposit by EFT. We also ordered delivery of groceries from online grocery chain which worked out quite well. We were travelling from mainland Australia in the later evening. Ellie's place was an old world experience which was quite delightful. One drawback for those travelling with small children Ellie's has lots of collectables which were quite attractive to our young grandchildren. We had to place items of interest in higher places, although in saying that some doors could be closed for peace of mind. . Stairs and height of beds could pose a problem for both the young and old, there was a stair barrier provided for the little ones. The home is located across the road from City Park which was a wonderful added bonus for us. Ellie's is very clean and suited well for two families. We were able to do some lovely day trips to Bridport- great walk on the beach! Anvers Chocolates which provided full view of chocolate making for free! The Gorge lovely walks and the peacocks really were making their presence felt. Penguin evening at Low Head and much more. We enjoyed Tassie Sea Scallops as fresh as you could get. Hallams restaurant also lived up to Bron's recommendation

Thanks so much for your lovely review and we are so glad you enjoyed your stay at Ellies Place and in Launceston. Ellies is perfect for many different kinds of guests, from couples wanting a special weekend away to groups and families looking to spend special time together. We have worked to make Ellies into a special home and all the little touches are what many people say make it unique. We understand that sometimes this may be a temptation to little ones, but we find that our wonderful guests treat the house as they would that of a friend. (We are quite happy for guests to move things out of temptation if necessary) Thanks so much for leaving Ellie's in such wonderful condition- it was a credit to you and your grandchildren! Having brought my own children up in the house I know how much young families enjoy the location and as with any house with stairs commonsense should prevail. In regard to older guests, we have had many spritely 70+ year-olds stay, however we always do recommend that if in doubt as to negotiating stairs that perhaps our other lovely property, Twyford, may be an alternative option. In regard to payment options, credit card payment in full is also available for guests however as agreed upon booking your special Winter rate deal it was not available under this option. I loved your idea about pre-ordering the groceries and will certainly be suggesting this to guests as a great option. We look forward to welcoming you back again one day at Ellies or even Twyford! Kind regards Bron and Darren

Fantastic place to stay
We stayed at Ellie's with our family. It is a wonderful place, full of warmth and charm. It is spotlessly clean and has everything a family could possibly need. Good internet was a hit with our children. Perfect location and Bronwyn is very easy to work with when booking. We will stay here again for sure.
