Interaction with guests: We will assist guests if they want to interact with and assist with feeding out to the cattle, and to accompany guests to see the Bee hives. Your hosts Bruce & Judy live on site and are available at any time to assist guests with their stay at the Meadows Villa, and with their visit to Christchurch.
The villa was exactly as discribed online. It was perfect for our family of two adults two children, the Villa was wonderfully warm, quality linen provided and well equipped kitchen. No dishwasher so best to do your dishes each time they are used. I have suggested this as an improvement to the accommodation to the owner.
Bruce was a friendly host even offered for our family to join him to feed the chooks, calves and gave the kids a fun ride on the four wheeler toboggan around the grass. Special memories for them thank you Bruce.
The property is immaculate and it was a lovely environment to return to each evening after a busy day out in about.
Thank you we will definitely be returning upon our next visit to Christchurch.

Immaculate!
We stayed for three nights at this beautiful villa. We’ve never stayed at a privately owned villa before so I was a little apprehensive at first, but the owner Bruce quickly made us feel right at home. We were able to walk the grounds at our leisure which made for a truly relaxing holiday. The house is incredibly well equipped, all the small things we might have forgotten to bring were at the ready. We popped down to the supermarket a couple of minutes down the road and bought all of our food for the trip. The kitchen was perfect for our breakfast, lunch, and dinner needs, and we had picnic dinners on the lawns. We can’t wait to come back!

Hidden gem in Christchurch
So glad we spotted this beautiful gem. Our hosts Bruce and Judy have maintained this place really well. Our car drives into the garage and a door opens up to a spacious "villa" overlooking a huge garden. There are two beautiful rooms, a nice living cum dining area and a self-contained kitchenette. Breakfast is promptly served at pre-arranged timing and we love the generous spread of juice, bread, fruits, yogurt, butter and jam. Definitely a place we will come back to!

Comes Highley Recommended
From the time we arrived we were made to feel most welcome. The detached 2 bdrm villa was like a home away from home. Lovely decore throughout with fresh water from their own bore and a lovely peaceful meadow view to add to the tranquility.
Breakfast served on a trolley every morning outside your room by Bruce with an array of choices from fresh cut fruits to cereals. The towels were nice & fluffy and the bed was super comfy. We even had our own internal garage. The best B&B we have ever stayed at.

Absolutely Brilliant!!
This is our family second stay at the Meadows. If you traveling to Christchurch, this place is "the must" to stay. Everything is utterly perfect. Spotlessly clean lodge with beautiful scenery. Our host, Bruce & Judy, are really kind and passionate. I really have no idea how to explain how excellence this place is. Truly Marvelous!

Bucolic Stay
Serene, quiet and relaxing stay at The Meadows. The Villa is extremely clean, well stocked and comfortable. Bruce and Judy are excellent hosts who went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. The fresh cut flowers, filling breakfast and welcome bottle of wine are some of the touches that made our stay special. We totally enjoyed the property-gardens, walking path, Highland Cattle and birds. We are looking forward to our trip back next month

Idyllic and relaxing
We stayed for 2 weeks after travelling around the top of the South Island for a number of days
There is just the one unit for rent which may not be apparent in the listing which makes it that much more enjoyable and relaxing for most.
The property was immaculately presented and Bruce and Judy were very welcoming on arrival and were available at any time to answer any questions and queries.
We were surprised to learn that the accommodation came with its own garage which also included a washing machine and tumble dryer. We were also provided with the added bonus of a gas barbecue.
The apartment itself is very well equipped and immaculately presented with modern attractive furnishings. There is a large flat screen TV with all the SKY programmes you could wish for (which is a novelty amongst rental accommodation in NZ). There’s also a free internet connection with a strong and consistent signal. A substantial continental breakfast is available for those who want it.
The property is surrounded by expansive and beautifully kept gardens which we were allowed to wander in at our leisure. We opened the curtains each morning to be greeted by numerous birds in the shape of plovers strolling across the lawn with highland cattle grazing in the adjacent field.
The Meadows is positioned in a quiet rural area just north of Christchurch and within easy reach of local services and the city itself. It is also just a few minutes drive away from some excellent beaches.
We had a relaxed and enjoyable time and cannot recommend this property highly enough as it’s one of the nicest holiday homes we have ever stayed in. and would not hesitate to return.

HOMELY STAY!
The Apartment is clean and comfortable. Spacious unit and able to keep us warm and cozy during the cold weather.
Love every part of the unit! Beautifully decorated and well kept. It even has an attached sheltered garage for our vehicle. There is a back lawn with arch bridges where you can see frosting settling on the lawn in the morning. Some sightings of wild birds too. Splendid! :)

The Canterbury plains is home to the city of Christchurch, a city that is now rebuilding after the devastating earthquakes in late 2010 and early 2013. The Christchurch area is close to many of those alpine ski fields and resorts as well as to the Hanmer Springs thermal area and Akaroa on the Banks Peninsula. Akaroa has a french connection, and supports a busy tourist industry. Harbour cruises that focus on dolphin and seal watching are very busy.
The Canterbury province has many boutique wineries and breweries that produce some wonderful wines and beers, and visits to these are a great way to spend a relaxing day exploring and enjoying!

Use your own vehicle to access the city centre, and also numerous shopping malls close to the Villa.
Uber or taxi is the most convenient alternative transport mode.
