The sea views are amazing from this level and there are many decks to enjoy the sea and bush in exclusive privacy.
Wake up to the sound of tuis and smell and hear the sea waves on your doorstep.

The house is the owner’s private residence that can be portioned off in various ways. Because of the first feedback we went round and round with the owner to ensure the house was as described. We almost canceled the rental but in the end decided to go ahead. Since then she has updated the posting to better describe the house. During our stay she stayed in the upper “apartment” and was no bother at all (the upper apartment, main house, and lower level each have separate entrances). Referring to the earlier posting, no other guests/tenants were around and we had the upper and lower sections to ourselves.
The house is beautiful and well appointed. There is a short walk to a local beach and has great views across the bay. The owner responds quickly to email.
We would rent this house again!

Overnight stay to celebrate my Birthday with my family
Booked the house for a weekend , Confirmed with the owner there would be 6 Adults coming. The owner was overseas during our stay and left us a list of do's and don'ts and a friends contact number should we need it. We arrived to find only one double bed made up and a single bed available in a storage alcove. The owners friend helped out and unlocked another bedroom what turned out to be a boarders room and prepared this for us, we were able to use the room because he was working that night ,we were uncomfortable with that. She got a single mattress and placed this in the back part of the family/lounge area for our 6th adult to sleep. The house was too clustered with the owners personal belongings, there was nowhere for us to hang any clothes and both bathrooms were left with the owners used toothbrushes, towels and toiletries, we felt like we were visitors not paying clients. We were all very disappointed with our stay there. I spoke to the owner when she returned from overseas and outlined our issues, on my request she did give me a partial refund, but that doesn't change the fact that we had a bad experience.

I was overseas and I learned a valuable lesson from this situation. I would never leave the running of an accomodation business to a friend or anyone, as it was embarrassing and made my holiday stressful.
This person who was meant to be moving out and leaving the place exemplary, did not, I am not that kind of person. I have him a refund.

BEACH ACCESS
An easy 1 minute walk via a track next to the fence along the driveway takes you through native bush to a sandy beach visible from the kitchen. It is a clean pretty beach however you can fish from a deck at the bottom of the property when the tide is in. The reserve has several bush walks.

DIRECTIONS
From Auckland City, head North on motorway 1 across the Harbour Bridge & take the 2nd exit 'Onewa Rd'. Drive up this long road past Highbury Shops in Birkenhead & continue to Verrans Corner where the bus depot is. Take the left hand road called 'Rangiteira Rd' at this y section & continue to drive through several round abouts until you reach Aeroview Drive where you turn left. The 2nd road on the left along Aeroview Drive is Neptune Ave. Drive down Neptune Ave until you see Neptune Reserve on the left near the bottom of the street. My driveway is next to this reserve & my Villa at the very bottom near the water on the right. Although you can not see any building from the street, I have a colorful mosaic letterbox at the top of the drive.
