Perfect
The cabin is amazing especially if you have children - plenty of room for everyone and the location adjacent to the park means your little ones will be perfectly safe whilst you relax on the balcony. The owner Andrew was extremely helpful on all things Argyll & Bute. The cabin was very clean on arrival and has everything you require for an excellent relaxing holiday

Fantastic
Just back from a long weekend stay in Osprey Lodge, the lodge has everything you could need and is very nicely situated within the park. There are fantastic walks nearby which meant our dogs had a great time too, the people in the community centre were so nice and welcoming and the food in the restaurant was great too. We couldn’t recommend this villa and in fact Dalavich enough. We will be back.

Just keeps on getting better!
Have been here before, it just keeps getting better. This time was with a family with young children. So good to see them having a blast outdoors, doesn't matter the weather, there is so much exploring to do. Found another great walk, following an off -road part of sustrans route 78, along the banks of Loch Awe, passing many Crannog sites. Want to come back again, with bike next time. Osprey cabin is so welcoming, and comfortable. The owners go the extra mile, to think of everything you could possibly need. It is clean and fresh, and oozes quality, with all the nice extra touches. All the tv stuff and fast wi-fi, if that is your thing. Have to say, we ended up playing games with the tv off most evenings, which was really refreshing and good family fun. I had some work to do, and was dreading the wi-fi, but it is amazingly fast. Great for streaming, and loading photos. Beds are comfy, cosy and warm, plenty of extra covers available, but we didnt need them. Really efficient heating system, and of course the very lovely log burner, keep the cabin toasty warm, even in February. We ate at the on-site restaurant/bar a couple of evenings. It was quite busy and had a really friendly atmosphere. Live performances were great entertainment, just a perfect week. Can't wait to come back again.

Surprisingly - something for everyone
Our family and friend enjoyed a wonderful week at Osprey. There really is something for everyone. We had walkers and cyclists - the oldest. in our group! We had busy working parents, wanting to spend fun time with their children away from all the usual pressures - quite a challenge with a young teenager, a 6 year old and a 3 year old! However, there really was something for everyone. My friend and I discovered some lovely walks. The walk up to Loch Avich, beyond the falls of Avich was a real treat. We have also made a note of the cycle tracks - for next time - yes, we will be back! The teenager who hadn't expected to enjoy the trip borrowed my friend's camera. She is really interested in Art, so ended up experimenting with photography in this lovely setting. Surprisingly, she also enjoyed the buzz and music at the local community centre in the evening. No matter what the weather, the 6 and 3 year olds were outside every day. Whether it was running around in the big open space in front of the cabins, building dams at the side of the loch or building dens, they had a ball. Somehow, the wetter and grubbier we were, during the day, the better it felt to return to our cosy cabin at the end of the day. Evenings were usually board games and food and drink with the wood burning stove in the background. Or, a wee walk to sample the lovely food available in the evening in the community centre bar Will definitely be back.

A hidden treasure.
The only fault was a long weekend isn't long enough. Osprey Cabin is absolutely fantastic, so well equipped and 5 star luxury. The views over the Loch are stunning and the walks in the surrounding woodland bring you face to face with nature. Asking the local shopkeeper/Post mistress if the shop stocked newspapers she replied "We make our own news here and it's all good" what a lovely thing to say, it still makes me smile. I loved it, I'm going back.

Beautiful
The cabin was excellent. Clean, spacious, and nicely decorated. It has everything you could possibly want or need in the kitchen. The beds are comfortable, there are plenty of pillows and also great space saver as the bedding is provided. Beautiful views from the cabin. Peaceful. Tv, dvd, and wifi available.

Perfection doesnt cover it - loved this cosy cabin
Spent the weekend in Osprey cabin, needed a chilled, stress free break - this was beyond expectations. The cabin was really cosy with the log burner on, and there are additional heaters if required. We didnt need them. Every need was catered for, and everything oozed quality and spotlessly clean. The beds were sooo comfy we didnt want to get up, and the cabin was so cosy we didnt want to go to bed. Free wi-fi with decent connection, good quality tv if you want it. Wouldn't normally wish for a tv, but it's not intrusive, and was good, as my partner wanted to watch the rugby. Kitchen has everything you need (including a cafetiere, which is a must for me). And the beds, did i mention the beds, they are really comfy, top quality. Plenty of nice walking too. Went up round Loch Avich and over to Beinn Chapull. Only thing that we didnt like - was leaving!!! Definitely be back, for longer too.

Excellent
Well where do I start... on arriving through the tranquil surroundings we felt that we were in Heaven... the cabin offered us everything we needed, the views from Osprey were spectacular and the star gazing was wonderful due to low light pollution. There are plenty of places to visit in the car and there are plenty of walks to do straight from your Cabin door... The cabin is snuggled next to the tiny village of Dalavich, the locals are very welcoming and made us feel like part of their community. The cabin is warm, cosy and I slept better than I Have done in a long time! The kids loved having a TV and bunk beds, which again had warm cosy duvets and very comfortable mattresses. The kitchen was equipped with EVERYTHING you needed and we could not want for more.. It did rain one day and we decided to stay in the cabin next to the log fire and play monopoly world edition (yes all day!) and what a treat it was to have such a chilled out time with the family looking across Loch Awe!! The owners even allow dogs in there property which was a real bonus for us and there are plenty of places to visit and walk with the dog... I cannot recommend this place and Andrew and Rachel enough.... book it if you have the chance you will not regret it!

About the neighborhood
Dalavich A small village adjacent to Loch Aweside Forest Cabins, Dalavich is home to the Rowan Cafe / Village Shop & Post Office, Community Centre and Loch View Bar & Grill. Opening hours of the Cafe/Shop and Restaurant and Bar vary depending on the season. 'Dalavich' is Gaelic in origin and means 'meadows/valley of the River Avich'. The village was established by the Forestry Commission in 1952 to facilitate timber operations in the surrounding Inverliever forest. This was labour-intensive and horses were used to extract timber from the forest - it is possible to get a glimpse of this history by visiting the 'old stables' which contain material from this epoch. Nowadays, a number of villagers still earn their living directly from forestry. There are forest walks and cycle routes maintained by the Forestry Commission nearby. Popular forest walks include the Dalavich Oakwood Trail (where red squirrel, pine marten, woodpeckers and many other woodland inhabitants may be seen), and the Avich Falls; there are many more nature trails, e.g. to Otter Point.
