The house and the location exceeded expectations. However, having paid nearly €6000 for a week, including the mandatory €400 cleaning fee, we were surprised that not a drop of toilet paper was left for us when we arrived, nor a bar of soap. The kitchen could have been better supplied with serving platters and bowls and it would have been useful to have some reusable plastic cups to use around the pool. WiFi was inadequate. The house and outdoor spaces were beautiful, including the views. Location was excellent. And the agent was helpful when we were settling in. However, the magic of this place was ruined when we were nearly charged for a towel that the agent claimed we lost. After several emails and speaking to the maid, the agent apologised for the mistake. Never in many years of renting many luxury villas around the world has an agent appeared on checkout day to count towels! And then accuse me of losing one! Our biggest gripe and the reason we won’t return is that we were charged €40 to re-varnish an outdoor table due to some marks from olive oil. At this price we believe reasonable wear and tear should be expected and the rental fee itself or certainly the hefty cleaning fee should have covered this sort of small repair. It is a shame that our wonderful stay was tarnished by this experience. We had planned to return but now we won’t.

The location is great for beach, scuba, speed boating around La Tavolara and Molara islands. The sea is gorgeous with a mix of blue and green, multiple beaches in walking range with nice bars and restaurants with great sea-food cuisine. And the la Madalena archipelago is just 1h drive and sailing there is amazing. The house is great as in photos but be prepared to off-road drive, narrow roads and parkings. Meanwhile once you arrive, there is plenty of space with comfortable seating in all areas and great views on the sea. Cooking for 8 is somehow challenging but not impossible while the kitchen is small, showering not so pleasant while water debit is low, access to Internet is through an LTE/4G hotspot so small coverage. Overall, the eight of us had a great vacation, while these are small inconveniences for those that like action and nature. Checkout was easy and fast but we got penalized for a lost towel and a pee accident from one of the kids. I found this penalty overpriced and the dialog insulting while we had to negotiate a surcharge for over-cleaning, which was finally removed. Hence, I would recommend with the caveats explained.
