This heritage property has been featured in local and international commercials and is based in Cape Town's popular Southern Suburbs which wrap around the iconic Table Mountain. It is a 15 minute drive into the City and ideally placed within a few miles of delightful restaurants, world class golf courses, exclusive boutiques and theatres. Beaches, winelands and other hot spots are a short drive away.
We have cut our prices due to the global economic slump. At these special rates we ask guests to feed our crazy cats and 3 laying hens! Or we can just charge a little more and send the pets to the kennels.
The house was built in 1905 and has the original wooden floors, sash windows with shutters and fireplaces in 3 of the rooms. There is an outside barbeque and garden with children's play area (swing, trampoline) for warm days and an indoor fireplace and TV in the lounge for cold nights. A limited cleaning service is included. There is off street parking and a security system. WiFi available on request.
The entire house is available over December/January and June/July.
Book this trip for your Cape Town stay! Beautiful house and close to town, the beach and Table Mountain. The owners were very easy to work with and they made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. The animals were an added joy. We would book this again in a heartbeat.

Perfectly Positioned - very comfortable Cape Town home
Spent 3 weeks here. (We had hired a car which is I recommend.) Perfectly positioned. Easy access to the highway to get to the vineyards - Muizenburg - Seapoint - City Centre, we joined the local Virgin Active gym in Claremont (5 minutes), got our coffee hit in the morning from the Woolworths which is merely a 2 minute drive away, there was a Spar 4 minutes away, Cavendish Sopping Centre was about 10 minutes away and a Pick'N Pay 6 minutes away. The Rondebosch Golf Club was an easy 3 minute drive away. (You can play nine holes early in the morning at a really cheap price and get a cart thrown in!)
Restaurants and take-away are abundant - too many to mention - use trip adviser - it was quite accurate - however if you are coming in December/January you need to book well in advance for the top rated restaurants.
The house is a period home circa > 100 years old. Lovely old light switches, timber floor and high ceilings. The security was excellent. The house itself was very comfortable and was serviced twice a week (the first visit was covered in the rent and the second cost extra). The pool was a bonus and hardly used as the beaches were easy to get to. The pets in the house gave the holiday an extra special dimension. They were really well behaved and each had their own character. However the chickens were not as sociable !!! - should not complain as they kept us in fresh eggs for our whole stay. Had guinea fowl in the garden nearly every day trying to steal the chickens feed. The garden was very well kept by the gardener who came in twice a week.
In the same street, a family opens their home before Christmas to show off their Christmas lights - made us feel like it was a home away from home.
Next time we go to Cape Town we will stay here again.
PS If the cable car to table mountain is really busy and the queues are too long - go onto the Table Mountain Website - buy a reserved ticket that can only be used before 0830 and you can miss the queues.

Great family space that would suit any shape or size of family/f
We enjoyed our stay. Clean, comfy home environment. Great for kids too. Local cafe walking distance great view of Table Mountain and good food with friendly service. Used hire car company which deliver and pick up from house. Local petrol station close with chemist and small super market, could walk. Great outside eating area. Nice garden to sit and enjoy the sunshine and slim view of Table Mountain. Home set in very pleasant neighbourhood. Friendly neighbours, nice to walk around - safe feel.
About 20 mins drive to Waterfront. Easy road system. 2mins drive from main motorways.
This is a great place to stay. Close enough to get anywhere fast yet out enough to see what living in Cape Town Suburb is like.

About the neighborhood
The house is within a few miles radius of delightful restaurants, coffee shops, world class golf courses, exclusive boutiques, theatres, bars and tourist sights . This makes the house an excellent base for exploring Cape Town and surrounds.
We love our neighbourhood as it has a 'community' feel. Our neighbours are helpful and people walk their dogs or ride their bikes up the road to the lovely Rondebosch Common nearby.
We are out of the bustle of the city but a 15 minute drive takes you to the heart of Cape Town and all it has to offer. A walk on the mountain is a 10 minute drive and the beaches are 20 minutes away. The airport is only 15 minutes up the highway.
