A Little Break
We booked a last minute stay to Sandy Lodge and arrived late at the accommodation. The welcome pack of tea, coffee and other incidentals were not provided so we had to go out which was a little inconvenient and not as stated in the booking details even though this appears to be quite common and not resolved by the team who manage the facilities for the owners. The accommodation is suitable as a base, however it is advisable if your looking for activities and a good beach then get in your car to Hornsea or Withensea there's not much to do, and the park entertainment tickets are quite costly. The lodge is situated in a circular format so if you are using the hot tub then you will be overlooked it is not really private at all, The noise from the entertainment park stops around midnight which could be an issue to those with younger children in bed, and the traffic from the on site maintenance team starts at 7am with their vehicles driving over speed bumps in the morning. The beach is a short walk, but the beach is very inaccessible there is a man made access of discarded rocks and stones which you have to clamber on to reach the beach, I personally felt a little uneasy on my own on the beach very isolated. A small information booklet is provided which gave information in terms of the lodge and how to reboot the boiler, but not what is around the area to explore with family and friends. Some of the bathrooms could do with a little re-vamp, areas had begun to look a little grubby and dirty in particular the shower enclosures had dirt accumulating around these. We used as a base and it did what it said on the tin, but sadly not for us.

Great stay
We had an amazing stay in this lodge. The hot tub was amazing, rooms were great. Entertainment & swimming pool was fab. The beach was stoney but the kids loved collecting stones & I managed a swim in the sea. Withernsea beach was lovely just a short drive away. The only disappointing thing for us was the lodge was covered in white dog hair on arriving & one of the chairs was covered in dog hair & sand, so before letting my 10 month son down I had to Hoover, the hoover didn’t pick up the dog hair that well & left a smell of dog, so we had to use febreeze & open the windows to get rid of the smell. Great 2 weeks though & the weather was kind to us

Fabulous lodge!
This is a lovely new lodge. Very comfortable and really well presented. Comfortable beds too! The layout in the en-suite double is really well thought out. Plenty of cupboard space which can be a problem in lodges, but not here. Brilliant for those with dogs too. The patio is fully enclosed and our two boys loved it! Great location for exploring the coast. Leisure passes can be purchased for the clubhouse and leisure facilities. You can arrange a delivery with an online supermarket directly to the lodge. Ideal place for a family holiday and we would happily return here when visiting the area again.
