This holiday home is ideal for families and groups of couples who are looking for the great outdoors but want a cosy and comfortable base to come back to in the evenings. Wonderful for young and old alike There is a large natural fenced garden with the ruins of a bygone age. Go through the front gate to walk down the single track road to the lighthouse, or take the track to the beach and coastal path. Go through the back gate and climb to the 'top of the world' with magnificent views to Cape Wrath, the Outer Hebrides, Skye and the unique mountains of the west coast of Scotland, then choose your way back. Crofters' sheep and cows wander up and down the road and there is always the chance of seeing red deer. Skeins of migrating geese pass over on their long hazardous journey back to Greenland and beyond to the Arctic north. As the spring gives way to summer, cuckoos cuckoo and swallows swoop. Whilst the yellow and white of bog asphodel and cotton grass give way to the purple heather there is always the ever changing sea and sky The wildlife viewing potential of the area is amazing. Whales, basking sharks, dolphins, seals, otters, sea & golden eagles, puffins are just part of the rich fauna & flora. If you are lucky you may even experience the Northern Lights, but as with the wildlife, you have to be in the right place at the right time. Leave through the front gate to follow the single track road to Stoer Lighthouse or down the track to the beach and coastal path. Leave by the back gate, climb to the ' top of the world' with amazing views up the coast to the puffin island of Handa and Cape Wrath, the Outer Hebrides, Skype and the unique and accessible mountains of Sutherland. The Stoer Peninsular is situated in Assynt, Sutherland, a stunning remote wilderness and part of Europe's first GeoPark. Walking, mountain climbing, fishing, deer stalking, canoeing, boat trips, star gazing, fossil hunting, rock pooling, cycling, good eating, cultural events, art & pottery or just exploring the beautiful landscape in a car are all on offer. It is a unique and historic landscape, and a natural diverse playground for young and old alike. The Freedom to roam or just ' stand and stare' - and just amazing for children More
