Alamkita means 'our natural world' and is a small private homestay designed and built by us with two separate bungalows located right on the river at the edge of a Javanese village. The soothing sound of water flowing over the dam is a constant background symphony. Only a 15-minute drive from the city center of Malioboro, we're located just past the west Ring Road off Jl. Godean.
Bungalow Teduh - ( means shady, shelter )
Your bungalow is nestled into the side of the hill with many windows to open to your river, paddy field and swimming pool views. Natural ventilation keeps you cool even on the hottest days. The bungalow is spacious, light, open and airy. You'll sleep soundly on your kind sized spring bed mattress under a gauzy mosquito net.

You'll have the opportunity to experience village life right from your terrace, watching farmers tend their fields, women washing clothes in the stream or kids laughing and playing in the water.
Even better, go for a walk along the river to the dam, or through the rice paddies. A smile and greeting of 'Mari' or 'Monggo' to the people you meet will bring a big smile in return.
You're also a short 5-minutes walk from the main road with access to mini-markets and other shops.

How to get there
Located a few blocks from Jl. Godean, just west of the Ring Road, you are only a 15-minutes car ride from the main street of Malioboro. Getting to the southern tourist area with many restaurants is about 20 minutes, while the airport is 35-45 minutes away.
Car and motorbike taxis are inexpensive here and readily available. Public bus transport is on the main road, a 5-minutes walk from the house. We can assist you with a car or motorbike rental during your stay if you prefer.
