Perfect in almost every way. This clever, high-spec stable conversion is like the Tardis; much bigger on the inside than it looks on the outside. It is light, spacious, comfortable and has everything you need for self catering. A large en-suite, walk-in shower with heated towel rail makes this place feel luxurious. It is in the hamlet of Levens Green, a peaceful rural area. The horses in the paddock can be seen from the lounge/kitchen/diner window and we saw red kites. Easy and secure entry to the spacious car park. Vicky is a great host. We found this very handy for reaching various work locations in North London, Essex, Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire. We would definitely stay again if we can. Sherrie cottage faces straight onto the paddock, which would be our preference next time.

The cottage is cosy and clean. Quite and beautiful area. Location is not too far from the town. Great host. We will definitely go back again for the future.

We stayed in Sherrie cottage for the summer of 2017 during a house move. The cottages are set in the countryside just outside the little village of Levens Green conveniently close to Ware. We stayed in Sherrie cottage which is a spacious and welcoming home with a large outside area for running around and of course feeding and playing with the horses, sheep and friendly dog which live on the site. If you don't like animals don't worry, the horses and sheep are behind fences and the friendly dog is very well behaved. Sherrie cottage features a generously equipped kitchen diner, a twin bedroom, family bathroom with bath & double bedroom with en suite shower room. The laundry is conveniently next to the cottage and is well equipped with multiple appliances. WiFi is fast and free the way it should be. There is ample parking. We were very happy living here for several weeks and would recommend it without hesitation - hosts Verity and Steve are welcoming, flexible and quickly attend to any minor maintenance issues. A peaceful retreat offering an excellent standard of living !

Sherrie Cottage surpassed our expectations! We booked a week at the cottage to celebrate New Year and had a fantastic time. Arriving late in the dark, we were welcomed by a lovely warm and extremely spacious house (much more spacious than it appears to be in the photos). There was an amazing welcome pack and a gorgeous lit-up Christmas tree. Our 6 year old son absolutely loved the large bath tub - he demanded a bath every night during our stay there! He also loved seeing the sheep and horses the next morning, and we had good fun feeding them a couple of times during our stay. The views from the cottage are great. The owners Verity and Steve live nearby and both came over to say hi during the week and to check that everything was OK, without being intrusive. There is a great laundry room as well, right next to the cottage, which includes two washing machines and a tumble dryer. Sherrie Cottage is now definitely at the top of our list for our next visit to the UK.

I recently returned from my second stay at Emerald Cottages, this time in Pepe, and once again everything was perfect. The cottage was spotlessly clean, has a fully equipped kitchen, very comfortable lounge furniture for relaxing, endless hot water in the shower, and bedding of high quality. Adjacent to the cottages is a fully equipped laundry room with washers and dryer, but also an outdoor clothesline and racks for those of us who prefer the smell of sunshine in our clothes. But the two real highlights are the hosts and the location. Verity and Steve are delightful hosts who made me feel very welcome and were willing to provide mid-holiday assistance. And the "welcome basket" of cookies and coffee was perfect after a long day of travel from France. The location of Emerald Cottages is simply superb: on the edge of the tiny village of Levens Green, the cottages are surrounded by green fields, the air is pristine, and the ambiance very peaceful. All this but not too far from the local pub! Thank you Verity and Steve for your many contributions to a superb holiday.

We originally enquired about cottage Pepe, a one bedroom cottage, but eventually took Bridie, a two bedroom place. We stayed from 29th May to 4th September 2015, using the cottage as a base for touring in the UK and Europe. As a result we were in residence for only about half the booked period or less. Given the length of stay, having a two bed place was a godsend, if only for the extra space to spread our stuff. We also had a friend to stay over for a weekend once. The cottage was spacious, with two good sized bedroms and a bathroom (shower (terrific), no bath) on one level, and a sitting/dining/cooking area at a lower level, down four steps. The bedrooms had generous storage space in wardrobes and drawers; the double bed in the main bedroom was very comfortable, the single beds in the other bedroom sligjtly less so. There was a small patio with table, chairs sofa and barbeque provided. Very effective free wifi was provided with no apparent GB limits - we watched sport through a SKY streaming account with no bufering problems. TV was provided in the lounge and each bedroom. The kitchen had a small fridge/freezer, and a gas cooker. All worked well, though the oven was sometimes difficult to start. Crockery and cookware supplied were adequate. Towels and linen were changed weekly. Emerald Cottages is located in the village of Leven's Green, along a narrow country road off the A10. There is no public transport. The village of Dane End, which has a pub and general store is about half an hour's walk away. One trek there was enough! We shopped mainly in Bishop's Stortford, Ware or Buntingford.

We stayed at Emerald Cottages for 9 weeks while the sale of our house went through. Verity and Steve are very welcoming and friendly hosts and made us feel very comfortable from booking right through the duration of our stay. The cottages are beautifully decorated and furnished and feel like a home from home (in our case it was our home for 9 weeks) Everything was fresh clean and tidy and nothing was too much to ask. The location of the cottages is faultless, lovely views over the countryside with many places to visit only a short car journey away. The washing machine and dryer facilities are brilliant and came in handy during our time. Had the weather been warmer we would of loved to have sat out the front of our cottage at the table and chairs and had a nice relaxing evening overlooking the country side. We would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a holiday rental or short term let. It has been a great stay.

Stayed here whilst doing Pantomime in Stevenage for 10 weeks. Verity and Steve were the perfect hosts and their cottage was the ideal place for me to stay as I don't like noise or town centres. The nearby village of Dane End has a well stocked shop/Post office and a very friendly pub, The Boot. The cottage itself was spotless and comfortable. Highly recommended.

We stayed here for 3 months whilst were waiting for our house purchase to go through. We really struggled to find anywhere in the local area which offered 3 month stays, as it was too long for B&Bs due to cost, and too short a period to rent a flat. We were very lucky when we found Emerald Cottages on the internet listed until holiday lettings. The accommodation was brand new, very modern, very clean and well equipped with everything you need for a very comfortable stay. The rooms are a generous size and well decorated, and they feel very homely, so it's easy to relax there. The cottage has TV, sofa, fully equipped kitchen, bathroom/ wet room, desk, wifi, secure parking, washing and drying facilities, and storage. The garden / field outside, has 2 horses in which make for a very picturesque view. The cottages are set in the Hertfordshire countryside near ware. You will need a car to get around, but it's only a short ten minute drive to Ware or Hertford, which have everything you need. There is also a really good farm shop just down the road. The owners, Verity and Steve, made our stay very easy from start to finish, and help make it feel like your home during your stay. Anything you need they are on site to help out. We would certainly recommend Emerald Cottages for both a holiday let or a stop gap rental. Thanks Verity and Steve for making our stay so enjoyable!
