Arcos de la Frontera, Costa de la Luz, Andalucia
Casa Pedro is a penthouse apartment in a 300-year-old Moorish house where arched ceilings and doorways meet modern interior design in the heart of the historic quarter. Renovated in 2015, your apartment offers typical Andalucian stylish simplicity with breathtaking views from its stunning roof terrace of soaring eagles, lakes, mountains and the cobbled winding lanes below full of busy Spanish life.

An artisan-designed spiral staircase leads you up to the extensive terrace, which is yours alone to enjoy, where a chilled glass of local Arcos wine never tasted so good. The outdoor mosaic tiled shower provides the first tapas of the day.

A cool central whitewashed patio awaits as you enter the house with curved terracotta steps taking you to the apartment, where open views from the perfect antidote to hot sunbathing sessions, while discre...

Casa Pedro was a lovely apartment and perfect for our stay in Arcos de la Frontera. It gave us a perfect base for both the town and also surrounding areas. The balcony on the roof is amazing and we spent all our time there when able watching the village world go by. The bathroom was clean, spacious and modern, bed...

Casa Pedro provides good value for money. The apartment appealed to us because of its large view terrace, bohemian decor and layout, as well as its proximity to the central plaza on the top of old town. Access by car involves driving through very narrow streets. We found free parking 500m downhill. The main cobblestone road exiting Arcos old town...

Management response:

Thanks for your thoughtful review and suggestions for improvement. You are right, Arcos because of its dramatic position on a cliff face, does have some steep streets but that also makes for the incredible views of mountains, lakes, beaches and countryside. I'm glad you enjoyed the supplied groceries - but there are two local grocery stories within 500m up the...

I visited Arcos de la Frontera recently at stayed at Casa Pedro. While it was simply furnished, it offered a huge roof terrace with amazing views over the mountains and the stunning village. Wouldn't hesitate to return to Arcos and Casa Pedro again. An ideal, economic get-away that gives you a real flavour of Spain.

Management response:

So glad you liked staying at Casa Pedro! We are adding more 'luxuries' to the apartment to make it even more comfortable for 2013. The roof terrace is extradorinary - we saw a Spanish Imperial eagle yesterday and the first sightings of storks. Hope to see you again this year!

About the neighborhood
Casa Pedro is located in the oldest part of Arcos known as the Casco Antiguo. Narrow flower-filled cobbled lanes zig-zag up, down and across the cliff-top making exploring a favourite pastime for visitors with ever changing vistas.

Arcos is big enough to support banks, supermarkets and bakeries while small enough to retain its charm. A Moorish castle, cathedral and the main square sit at the very top of the town, along with a Parador where you can enjoy a small glass of chilled sherry and watch kestrels soar on the breeze.
Along the bottom of the towns mighty cliffs, is a newly created river walk where carp bask in the all day sun. Ten minutes by car and you';ll find a golf course, horse riding, swimming pool and a lake with waterside restaurants.
