Orange Villa is een uitstekende plek als je wilt rust, natuur wilt en bij een authentiek gezin wilt verblijven. De Villa is vlakbij natuurparken en niet ver van Mananthavady, vanwaar je bussen naar Kochi, Kozikhode etc. kunt pakken. De KSRTC-bus richting Mananthavady stopt op enkele meters aan de hoofdweg (waar de stands van de fruitverkopers staan). De familie kookt graag voor je, of het ontbijt, lunch of diner is: het zijn lekkere Kerala gerechten.

Excellent home stay
Excellent home stay!! The place is really calm, greenish and spacious. We were 3 families, we took the house with 4 bedroom. The people there are not money minded, more friendly and very helpful, food taste was awesome, we enjoyed the Kerala style dishes. Food cost also reasonable when compared to outside restaurants. it has a batminton court and lot of space, we had 4 kids in our group all enjoyed a lot. they would have enjoyed further more if there is a kid's play area, hope they can arrange it.
It is little far from Kalpetta, but it you want to just stay and relax then this is the right place, still there few spots nearby like Irupu falls, Wildlife sanctuary and thirunelly temple. Being from a polluted / congested city life, We felt like staying in our home town. Really had nice experience.

Friedly, Awesome homely food and Ambience
Had a nice stay here. Simple, Neat and homely. Chechi and the other staffs there were very helpful and understanding. We had 3 children below 3 years on our trip, so you can imagine how difficult it would be without understanding staffs. I would recommend 'Orange villa' to all those who likes to have a homely feel stay under budget. Food was too natural as it was made form the veggies and spices grown on their own farm.

Stinky costly rooms, no hospitality, bad expensive food
Going through earlier reviews, I decided to book 2 rooms in this Homestay worth Rs. 5000/- total, but to my dismay, it was no where worth the money.
1) We reached the Homestay after a long journey, only to step into a room which was stinking like anything (jasmine perfume fragrance+damp smell from the blanket), which made it difficult for us to stay in the rooms. So we decided to go for site seeing immediately, rather than resting in the rooms for some time.
2) They offered Lemon juice after reaching, the only good part of whole stay.
3) After coming back to the Homestay, they did not offer for any coffee/ tea, which other Homestays generally do. However they asked for dinner, and we said yes, and maybe that was our major mistake. Anyone who has a taste for coconut oil, might like the food, however for me and my family, it got difficult to eat, and most of the dishes were left untouched. Also the rate per plate for dinner was overly charged.
4) The road connecting the main road and Homestay which is about 100 mtr. is deteriorated. It was difficult to drive a Car through that.
Overall, it was very bad experience and costly staying at this Homestay. :(

Thank you for the your valuable feedback ,we are quiet surprise this is the first time we are getting the complaint about rooms and foods all other guests who stayed with us praised our foods which we serves .As you know in Kerala we cook with coconut oil those who don,t like coconut oil will use other oil also . For Dinner we have charged for only 200 rupees .You were not made any complaint regarding the room and food during the stay .While coming back after sight seeing we normally serve coffee/ tea on request , The road connecting to home stay got damaged due to heavy rain in the monsoon
This feed back will help us improve our service in future and regret inconveniences caused

Nice place with good food but will ruin your holiday mood however with their service.
Booked two rooms for 2 nights using Trip advisor for 4700, 2 weeks before the trip. Called the Home Stay to confirm the same 2 days before the trip & came to know that the amount 4700 is not valid & it should be 6000. Since it was just 2 days, i agreed to pay the remaining amount 1300.
Reach the Homestay & ordered for Dinner since they could not prepare lunch in short notice.
Day 1 - Post dinner, we started setting up our barbecue & playing music (not loud as we know it might disturb others), to our surprise, the Homestay guy ordered us not to use barbecue & stop playing music. Also did not allow us to sit outside. We had to argue with him & finally he allowed us to sit outside without playing music but did not allow to prepare anything. Even boozing was not allowed sitting outside.
Day 2 - Asked for Coffee for 10 people, they told they did not have milk, we gave 2 ltrs of milk which we bought. Breakfast was served only for 7 out of 10 due to shortage of food we had another argument. Food was very delicious but they asked us to adjust. For lunch we went out but told them that we need Dinner (non veg for 6 & veg for 4). Dinner time, we were served for very limited non veg & veg was sufficient for 4. Since it was 9PM, we could not go out searching for dinner outside, all Non veg people have to starve without dinner on that night.
Day 3 Morning,
Coffee - (We gave the Milk & Coffee Powder) - To prepare it for 2 days, the bill was Rs 580 for preparing coffee.
Rooms are good & clean enough so no comments on rooms. Paid whatever we agreed.
Food (Dinner), had a big argument & finally settled for not paying for non veg as they did not serve for what they had promised. (250 per plate)
Last but not the least, we got a warning by them (Home Stay Guys) and they told us "you will pay for this later" & noted our car Reg numbers. I don’t know what they do with this.
People who Booze, eat non veg, go in groups, play music can avoid this place. People who enjoy sitting in between 4 walls can definitely enjoy this place a lot.

Thank you for the feedback , we deeply regretted inconvenience caused to you during the stay with us
Let us clarify whole issue as under mentioned
1)You booked only for two rooms for 10 adult and 01 child is very difficult to accommodate in the two rooms so we have suggested to take 03 rooms . We provided 04 rooms on the day one ,because there was no other guest in the property but charged for 03 rooms only.
2) We have given the space to prepare the barbecue and played music you enjoyed till 01 Am mid night .Very next morning we have seen entire room , Varandha and courtyard full of waste of barbecue like Maze and chicken and other food items (sir can you imagine 10 person 02 days 06 polythene bag of wastage ,thanks for you have taken away that along with you because that food you brought from outside )
3) Day 2 we humbly requested do not make loud noise and please don’t repeat yesterday what you did ( because of two reason one is the property was occupied with other guest and also our villa is located near to wild life sanctuary there is strict rule from the forest department after 11 PM we are not allowed to play music which cause disturbance to animals) it made you annoyed and started the complaint.
4)Your order for Dinner was 5 Non Veg and 5 Veg we prepard for the same with Non Veg dishes fish fry and fish curry .We kept it on table and you told us that you will server yourselves . We thought food was sufficient quantity to eat 05 person , and you had fish fry and curry ,next morning you argue with us regarding insufficient food .You have not paid INR 3000/ for this issue
5) Please note Rs. 580 charged not only for coffee or tea one day it is for 03 days which we have served the Brue Coffee also
6) Sir we noted your car register number after you told us come to Bangalore I will show you.
We very well know the people are coming for the holiday to enjoy , having verity food and see the various destination, we allow guest to enjoy , but we have some limitations because this is the home stay as well as family staying too. And also it is located very near to jungle.
Once again we are really sorry for inconvenience caused to you , We know the value of our Guest

beautiful place in the middle of nature
very nice and relaxing place with a great porche good atmosphere and friendly hosts. At night you here birds and wild animals. Very romantic.

Amazing Place Must Visit !!!
Its really an awesome home stay located in the mid of a jungle at Wayanad.
The Ideal Location and the stay is the most comfortable.Its really like a home away from home as one will get to experience a hospitality that is beyond appreciation. The calm and serene ambiance will attract every human being. The rooms are clean and quit beautiful
The most important thing was the food. We got a authentic Kerala cuisine which is really superb...Every one was enjoyed the stay.

In Nature,s Lap..!!
Wayanad was my dream destination for many years, finally I managed to travel one fine day. I visited in the month of June, rainy season in India. I was lucky that during two days of our stay, we didn't come across rainfall !! I was again lucky that I got this beautiful home stay which is situated deep inside the forest of Wayanad.
Its a perfect place for those who like wildlife as both Nagarahole (Karnataka) and Tholpetty (Kerala) wildlife sanctuaries are nearby.. I must mention that during these two safaris, we saw wild boars, peafowls, deer, sambhar deer, elephants, and the most awaited animal TIGER!!!
Coming to the rooms, it is well maintained and clean.. Calm with no disturbance of human activities. .! Can relax on chairs provided in veranda and one must not miss early morning walk near homestay.[ Beware, u may encounter with wild elephants. Hence, ask owner's advice before going]
Owners are too friendly and caring. As a complimentary breakfast they served hot Puttu and Dosas with coconut chutney and Kadala curry, and it was delicious. One must have a look on the antiques [see photos below] which are placed on the wall in dining hall and outside main hall..
Since we showed more interest on those antiques, they keep on answering our questions. And by that we came to know that this house was built more than seven to eight decades before. Don't miss to have a look on horns of Gaurs and deers...
And after visiting both Nagarahole and Tholpetty wildlife sanctuaries, we said goodbye to Orange villa and headed towards Thirunelly Temple..

Simply Natural
We stayed for one night at this property. The property is at walking distance from park entrance. The rooms are clean and offers basic amenities. The host is really humble. The food is authentic. We found deer roaming around the stay in the evening time. Infact the host switch on the electric fence after dark to prevent any wild animal from entering the property. Surely recommended.

It was wonderful experience
We like the property very much especially room was very neat and clean . Another advantage is the location the place villa situated in is very calm and quit near to wildlife sanctuary. The traditional food served to us very tasty and delicious. Early morning we went to jeep safari inside the tholpatty wild life sanctuary ,it was one of other attraction that we had seen wild animal like bison , wolves, elephant. All tougher it was unique experience.
