The village of Gruda is 1 kilometer from the house and has shops and bars, a good restaurant serving traditional food is 2 kilometers away called Konavoski Dvori, 10 kilometers to the south is a pebble beach, at Molunat, 10 kilometers north is Cavtat, with a good selection of restaurants, and 5 kilometers on from here is Mlini, which has a nice pebble beach.
Konavle is reminiscent of Tuscany, with it's rolling green hills, speckled with traditional little villages. An easy drive is Dubrovnik, and you can enjoy its history and entertainment, a number of ferries depart from there to nearby islands, as well as the National park, on the Island of Mljet.

Outstanding villa and breathtaking scenery
The villa rests in most amazing breath taking scenery, looking over vineyards, olive groves, tangerine trees and the green valleys below. The large gardens are opulent and host a spacious beautiful pool area, tennis court and alfresco shaded area. Everywhere is so well maintained and kept fresh. There is a table tennis table, 7 ft slate pool table, gym and plenty of sports equipment. The outdoor bbq area was beautiful at all times of the day, shaded lunch or evening dining. Inside the house has 3 large rooms with plenty of wardrobe space, blinds and shutters and mesh screens help keep the rooms cool and bug free. The bathrooms are well equipped with plenty of fresh towels. The kitchen is well stocked and the lounge seated 6 of us with one of the sofa beds folded down. The dining area seated 6 comfortably and large hallways made everywhere feel light and breezy. As for the hosts, they were amazing, so attentive, speak excellent English and made us feel so welcome. They often popped in to clean the pool and see if everything was ok and we loved spending time with them. If you are invited to taste the local wine, then this is not to be missed. Having travelled to many villas around the world this is our favourite for so many reasons. Thank you.

Idyllic
Having visited 2 years ago with friends, we returned this year with our adult children and their partners. It was brilliant seeing Mario, Pero and Kate again and they all were so hospitable and could not do enough for us. The villa has everything and we have all enjoyed ourselves so much, both staying in, relaxing by the pool and hot tub, playing tennis, pool or table tennis, or visits locally or further afield. The boat trip Mario organised was fabulous and highly recommended.
We have had some lovely bbq meals in as well as enjoying some local restaurants. Lamb 'under the bell' is a must, as is the Milicic wine, from the cellar under the villa, and vineyard opposite. We will be back no mistake. Thank you family Milicic from all of our family. Sue and Gary.

Simply perfect
We stayed with 3 kids (12,14,16) for a week in October. What a wonderful welcome we received. This villa has everything you need. It’s rural setting has simply stunning views over the beautiful countryside. The villa itself is spacious and houses a sauna, games room (pool table, Weight machine, treadmill), tennis courts and a great size swimming pool. Plenty for our kids to amuse themselves. The owners are lovely people and keen for you to enjoy your stay and sample their wine! Really enjoyed their warm hospitality and stories of their country.
Plenty places to visit nearby, we especially enjoyed Cavtat and you are so near the Montenegro border, it’s also worth a visit. You can also catch a boat from Cavtat to visit Dubrovnik which is a great way to see the town. We cant recommend this villa enough, everything is simply perfect!

The view and the villa are amazing. The family are extremely helpful and friendly and go out of their way to welcome you. This is the second time we've been to this villa and we are planning to return.

Special villa in "secret" Dalmatian valley
This was our second visit to this beautiful villa. Its got everything you need and yes, it's as good as the photos and more! Spacous bedrooms with very comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen, plenty of seating and sunbeds for all. There are spots to swim, relax, exercise, gentle bike rides around quiet roads and for me.. the best red wine in Croatia, fermented below your feet. Worry not the winery is not noisy or intrusive.
Location is in the gorgeous but off the main road fertile valley of Konavle. You can visit Dubrovnik easily but there are other lovely spots too. Don't miss the Sunday morning folk dancing in Cilipi or the nearby Skopol Grad castle.
Best of all there is the family Milicic who are helpful, kind and knowledgeable and who work so hard to help make your visit special. Best of all for us was sighting BeeEater birds and the wild boar crossing the road, all within sight of the villa.

Perfect, friendly, great location, peaceful but loads to do
The villa is perfect. It's situated above a small family winery and the family could not have been more friendly. Not only were we invited for a welcome meal in the winery, but we were also invited to the harvest celebration meal. It was really great, we felt genuinely welcome.
The villa has a large pool, pool table, gym, table tennis, sauna and tennis court - so plenty to do - if you want it. But the location was perfect, very quiet, and very beautiful yet within easy reach of interesting places such as Dubrovnik and Cavtat. I'd definitely recommend visiting across the border to Montenegro - it was inspiring.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this villa to anybody.

Perfect Villa for a wonderful Croatian holiday!
We have just returned from a wonderful holiday in Villa Milicic. The villa is located within stunning countryside with the most breathtaking panoramic views. Mario and his parents really looked after us and we particularly enjoyed the lovely wine and the cellar!! Like other reviews the villa is so clean and well equipped - we especially enjoyed the outside space, the pool, table tennis, football and the lovely eating area (offering shade too!). Looking out over the wine yard and the olive trees - tasting the figs too!
In Gruda you can buy your everyday essentials and within a 5 minute drive there are a few lovely restaurants our favourite was Kuca.
There are lots of beautiful places to drive to - we loved Dubrovnik and Cavtat. Hired jet skis at Mlini. Swam in the sea at Molunat. Only wish we had time to hire a boat from Mario - maybe next time!

Beautiful Location, Lovely Owners
Visited Villa Millicic with a group of friends. What an amazing holiday! Upon arrival we were welcomed by the owner, Mario and his parents who gave us a sample of wine from their vineyards and local ham, cheese and bread. Extremely welcoming and hospitable, as we found most the Croatian people we came across on the trip.
The accommodation itself is lovely and has to be the most well-equipped rental that I have ever stayed at. There was nothing missing, a real home from home. The villa has a sauna and pool, which was bit too cold to use at this time of year, but would have been welcome in the hotter summer months. There is an outside barbecue oven and games room, with pool, table tennis and gym equipment. None of us were stuck without something to amuse us over the week we stayed there.
The valley the villa is situated in is absolutely stunning. You just don;t get bored of watching how the light changes throughout the day. It truly is a very special place. The villa is located within a half hour car drive to Dubrovnik and also borders Bosnia and Montenegro, so there is no shortage of accessible day trips here. Overall, I can't recommend this place highly enough and can't wait to go back!

Superb villa highly recommended
Villa Milicic is exceptional, we have stayed in many villas in different parts of Europe but this is up there with the best. Fantastic to be greeted on arrival by Mario and sample his superb wine - so good we brought some home - he was so helpful to us throughout our stay. The outdoor facilities are superb and the view from the pool and terraces at sunset are stunning. We stayed here with our 2 teenage boys and they made full use of the great Wi-Fi and brilliant games room only a shame it was too hot for a game of football. The villa is superbly equipped with everything you could want plus a sauna! All really well maintained and to a very high standard. Gruda itself is really convenient for the airport and for venturing to Montenegro and Cavtat which we loved, there are also some decent restaurants within 5-10 minutes drive. Loved Croatia and loved this villa - totally exceeded expectations and we will be back!

We were blown away on arrival at Villa Milicic and it only got better as the week progressed.
The welcome from Mario & his father, on our arrival, was delightful. After a tour of the house and the facilities, Mario took us into the cellar, that houses the vats for the family vineyard plus fully stocked bar and large table, with benches. We met Mr Milicic, senior, who was charming (he runs the family vineyard) and they gave us a very welcome selection of their own wines and local meats, cheeses & olives. The views from the garden, both along the valley and up to the mountains, was tremendous. The pool was wonderful and was perfectly located to fully appreciate the views. The house was spacious and fully stocked with all the facilities that you needed. We used the sauna and the table tennis table, and there is a large external, but roofed, BBQ area, that we used every day. The location was rural, but close to amenities in Gruda. There are some very nice restaurants, within 3 km and good bike hire, in Ljuta. Cavtat is lovely and of course a visit to the old town of Dubrovnik, is a must. If you like a quiet and secluded beach, then make your way to Popovici and follow the track to the coast. But, be aware, that the path to the beach is very steep and uneven, so you need to be careful and reasonably fit !
