We were a family of 18 and booked this wonderful home over a year ago, knowing how hard it is to get such a large property for a big family!
The pictures don't do it justice, it was simply divine and everything we could have wished for! The owners, Daniel and Marie Jean were delightful, allowing us to spend a glorious week here with our family! They had thought of everything, we had a wonderful holiday!

Perfect for a relaxed holiday!
We stayed at Marie-Jeanne and Daniel's property for one week with 4 generation and enjoyed the space the house is offering, the pool, the jacuzzi, the sauna and the great restaurants in the surroundings. Les grands chênes is very well equipped and the owners are relaxed and service oriented.

The perfect holiday villa
This was our third year coming to Les Grands Chenes and it was as brilliant as ever. The house and gardens are stunning and the house is excellently stocked for catering for large groups. As a family group we appreciated that there were so many toys plus highchairs, changing mats and potties. We walked to Chateau de Bridoire for a day of sunny games, but were able to spend most of our days at the house as there was so much to do. The perfect house for large groups

Amazing Villa
We had an amazing holiday and the accommadation is perfect for a large group, so much to do and the hosts were amazing and so helpful, i cannot recommend enough

Amazing house in beautiful setting, wonderfully equipped.
Beautiful huge house set against the wonderful french countryside. The house is really well equipped, with lots of toys for children, even a trampoline ! We loved the jacuzzi and sauna. The pool was great. Each room was really pretty. The kitchen has 2 dishwashers, and there are 3 washing machines and a tumble dryer - perfect for a large group such as ours ( we were 20 people). There are supermarkets nearby in Bergerac, which is only a 15 minute drive. Marie-Jeanne and Daniel were the perfect hosts, answering every query swiftly. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this home to anyone looking for a relaxing holiday.

hebben een super week vakantie gehad in deze villa, samen met al onze kinderen en kleinkinderen (20) top locatie, prachtig domein, super vriendelijke eigenaars, wat wens een mens nog meer! hopelijk kunnen wij nog eens terug komen!

Excellent séjour , demeure idéale , propriétaires charmants et à l'écoute
La demeure est parfaite pour des rassemblements entre amis avec enfants ou en famille.
A notre arrivée, c'est un grand jardin arboré et fleuri qui s'ouvre à nous , puis cette vue magnifique sur la campagne environnante et pour finir cette superbe demeure.
Rien ne manque, aussi bien niveau équipement que confort.
C'est une grande propriété permettant aux enfants de s'amuser, foot, trampoline, ping pong, et aux parents de se reposer au bord de la piscine, dans un jacuzzi ou sauna.
Dans la maison il y a des endroits suffisamment grands pour les moments de convivialité mais également pour plus d’intimité et d’indépendance.
Très bien équipée, réfrigérateurs , congélateurs, lave linge et sèche linge en nombre suffisant.
Une semaine inoubliable, Merci à M. et Mme Girauld,de nous avoir permis de vivre ces magnifiques moments.
Nous reviendrons!

Family group reunion
Our party of 26 (comprising 16 adults and 10 children under 12) has just returned from a wonderful weeks holiday at Les Grands Chenes. We had a rain free week with the last day being almost too hot for the younger children.
The accommodation was perfect for our six family groups with plenty of patios and gazebos on the eight acre site to find peace and quiet if required. The children loved the pool and the enormous gardens in which to run around and play.
Advantage was taken of several local amenities. An older group went Go-Karting,
a mixed group went "tree walking" and swinging from zip wires and a younger group went to the adjacent riding school, some to have their first experience on horseback.
We self catered for dinner each day and only needed to use the main kitchen where we were delighted to find two dish-washers which catered for our numbers.
Our ages spanned from 6 months to 81 and, without exception, all concerned would welcome the chance to return.
We would thoroughly recommend Les Grands Chenes for any form of family gathering or group occasion.
A sincere "mille remerciements" to Marie-Jeanne and Daniel from all of us.

Absolutely perfect for an easy and delightful family gathering
We had a fabulous stay. Marie-Jeanne and Daniel are warm and welcoming hosts and have created a perfect holiday home.
The kitchen had all the equipment you could possibly need - salad spinners, blender, deep fryer, TWO dishwashers, so many saucepans and frying pans, electric knife sharpener... Catering for ourselves was so easy and the setting so gorgeous, we only ventured out for dinner on one evening.
The pool and surrounds are a delight - so many beautiful flowers, plenty of comfy sun beds with cushions, fabulous views. Great separation if you wanted it with bedrooms and living areas spread around the property. If you have small kids (we didn't) in the party there is an alarm on the pool area and toys galore. There are two table tennis options - indoors or out, jacuzzi was lovely on the one day we had cooler weather and there is a fenced trampoline.
The location is 15 mins from Bergerac airport (but far enough to have no planes going overhead) and close to markets, restaurants etc but with almost no passing traffic it is ideally quiet.
We all loved our stay here and are grateful to Marie-Jeanne and Daniel for creating such a lovely atmosphere for our family gathering.

traumhafte Familienzusammenkunft
Wundervolle Umgebung, herzlicher Empfang durch die Besitzer, die ihr Heim im Sommer vermieten, sehr geschmackvoller Garten und Haus. Genügend Platz für 6 Familien mit insgesamt 25 Personen. Gut eingerichtete Küchen und mehrere Kühlschränke und Waschmaschinen. Gut gepflegtes Schwimmbad und Whirlpool.
Viele Spielsachen für Kinder und Erwachsene. (Fast) alle Betten sind gut. Sehr ruhige Umgebung.

Thank you to this friendly Swiss group for its review and thank you for drawing our attention to the fact that 2 single beds that are usually for children may not be strong enough when used by adults. To avoid this, we will change them so that they can suit children but also occasionally to adults.

The Bergerac region is a sightseer’s delight with its historical monuments, cloisters and caves. There is something to surprise you at every turn.
The region is particularly lively in Spring, Summer and beginning of Autumn, with outdoor events galore.
Each town or village has its own fetes and events. Open-air markets at local bastide towns are a daily event, also night markets with outdoor meals, arts, crafts, clothing and attractions: E.g.,in Eymet (10 mn), where you can seat down on the market square and savour mussels, barbecued duck, foie gras and other delicacies with some local red, white or rosé wine while the youngsters can wander off and find a few souvenirs.
In Bergerac ( 10 minutes)
Take your time strolling through the lanes bordered by wood-worked homes and several residences of yesteryear. Cyrano de Bergerac awaits you!…for wine tasting, a ride aboard a traditional barge or a tour by “little train”. Enter the wine history thanks to exhibitions, projections and tasting sessions offered by La Maison des Vins with a charming cloister, and where events & entertainments take place all year round.
Continue your tour with the Tobacco Museum and the Museum of Wine and Barging Tradition which highlight the important role of the river in the social and economic development of Bergerac over the last centuries. Within a a stone throw, any sculpture lover will enjoy visiting the remarkable Musée Costi.
In every direction around Bergerac, the undulating countryside is stripped with vines.
Going from many castles ( Monbazillac, Lanquais…) to marvellous places of interest
( Moulin de la Rouzique in Couze, the medieval village of Issigeac, Caves de Maxange in Le Buisson de Cadouin…), give yourself enough spare time to also discover Le Pays des Bastides ( Monpazier, Beaumont du Périgord…). In the opposite direction, leading to Saint Emilion, have a stop at Tower of Montaigne and visit Gallo-Roman Ruins in Montcaret.
Sigoulès, the nearest village (4 km) has all the amenities of a typical French village including restaurants, supermarket, bakery, delicatessen, tabac, newsagents, café, pharmacy,
dentist, doctor’s office…
