The Cascina Rollone is a beautifully restored farmhouse belonging to the estate of the Marchesi Incisa della Rocchetta. The house is located on the top of a hill and it is surrounded by vineyards and fields belonging to the family. Wake up early in the morning and pick up fresh fruit and vegetable from our orchard. On days of fine weather, the view from the house is spectacular. In the village of Rocchetta Tanaro you have the winery of Marchesi Incisa offering wine tastings, winery tours and cooking courses. The area of famous for excellent restaurants and Barolo and Barbaresco are a short drive away. From Rocchetta Tanaro, you can easily reach Turin, the lakes, the riviera coast or the famous shopping outlet in Serravalle.
We loved staying here. The house was lovely: beautifully decorated and furnished, comfortable, cool and very well equipped including dishwasher and washing machine. All the bedrooms are spacious and there are 2 good size bathrooms; the kitchen is large and opens onto a shady terrace. The garden is all around the house so it is always possible to find sun or shade and the views are amazing; the garden isn't fully enclosed so those travelling with young children or pets should be aware of this. The lane up to the house is pretty bumpy so I was glad we were in a hire car with decent suspension! The hosts could not have been more welcoming and I would certainly recommend this holiday home.
