Absolutely loved our choice of accommodation in Scotland, we loved the location and the space inside the cottage. Our grandchildren enjoyed the outside space too & the lovely walks nearby
We liked to check out the view of the Campsies every morning & evening from the lounge window. The owners made us very welcome

Dingieshowe Cottage 😍😍
This was our second time staying here. Two adults with a 12 year old child. This has has everything that one could think of. Amenities are great. There are some great country walks around too. Owner Margaret Lindsay is the sweetest person I have ever met I reckon. Stop thinking about it and just book this place.
Great value for money.

An ideal geographic position
Located 20 minutes from Glasgow and 1 hour from Edinburgh, this cottage is ideal for exploring Scotland's two major cities and the South Highlands. In addition, the accommodation is comfortable and well equipped and the owners are very attentive, although not on site.

Nice relaxing two weeks in Lennoxtown!
We wanted to see everything Scotland has to offer. Lennoxtown is the perfect place to start your journey since it's located between the two big cities Glasgow and Edinburgh.
The cottage had everything we need and the owners were so nice to even take us back to the airport.
We'll definitely visit again!
Thank you!

Excellent base for family holidays around Glasgow
We (family with two children, 11 yrs. old) had a great 2-week stay. The cottage is equipped with everything you need and is well maintained. Very good location (20 mins to Glasgow centre, 20 mins to Loch Lomond, Campsies are nice hills for short and longer walks right outside the door. All information how to use the house was easily available. We would return again.

An excellent stay
The cottage is very conveniently located, about 25 minutes by driving to the north of Glasgow, and about 400 yards from a Co-op supermarket. You will find Campsie Glen and can see hills from the living room. Despite not being in an urban area, it also provides an opportunity for urbex - a derelict hospital (Lennox Castle) is nearby. The home owner is very kind and helpful. You will find this place an excellent place to start your exploration in Scotland.

Although a rural village, Lennoxtown has a fascinating history, including industries such as a nail works, a calico works, and an alum factory, owned by Macintosh of waterproof clothing fame. All of these are now gone without trace, and the only industry now is the bottling plant for Highland Spring Water. The town centre - soon to be redeveloped - is an excellent centre for touring, providing all facilities needed - garages, pharmacy, grocers, butchers, newsagents, doctors, churches.
Lennoxtown nestles at the foot of the beautiful Campsie Fells, and their towering crags can been seen from windows of the house, changing colour with the seasons – green with spring grasses, purple with heather, golden with bracken – or wrapped in ethereal mists, waterfalls tumbling down their rugged crags. The Campsies provide wonderful scope for hiking, birdwatching or just wandering.
A drive up the Crow Road at the other end of the village takes one up a steep road clinging to the mountain side, to breathtaking views over the Clyde Valley below. Continuing on through the mountain pass and across the moors, then down through woodlands, rivers, and pretty villages leads to a long straight road, built by General Wade, heading for Stirling, its ancient castle built by James IV, towering on the skyline.
Close by is Barrhill - a Roman fort on the Antonine Wall. Ample scope for hill walking and for flatter walking and cycling, the towpath on the Forth & Clyde canal (3miles), connects with the new Falkirk Wheel. At the foot of the road the Thomas Muir Heritage trail hugs pretty banks of the Glazert Water. The West Highland Way, which runs from north Glasgow to Fort William, can be accessed only 7 miles away. Trout fisheries and golf courses nearby. Bus route to Glasgow 2 minutes from house. Glazert Country House Hotel only a stone's throw away if you want that quiet evening drink or delicious meal.

How to get there
Lennoxtown is easily reached by car via the M8 and M80, following for Kirkintilloch, A806 and then A891, turning left at Milton of Campsie towards Lennnoxtown. On entering the village, the Glazert Meadow is situated in the first road on the left, and the house is the the first house on the right, a bungalow. There is a bus route - X85 to Campsie - every half hour from Buchanan Bus Station in Glasgow. The bus stop is about 100 yards from the house.
