Situated near the beautiful Canal du Midi, Mountain View is a charming 13th century village house with a fabulous sun terrace and stunning panoramic views over the Alaric Mountains and Languedoc vineyards.As you enter the house a beautiful stone spiral staircase leads into the bright, open-plan living and dining area, with 3 sets of French doors opening onto the fabulous private south-facing terrace: an ideal spot for sunbathing, relaxing and summertime dining.The house boasts a large, fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher and a washing machine, and the lounge has comfy sofas with Sat TV and Wi-Fi Internet. There are three spacious bedrooms and two full bathrooms accommodating 6 visitors comfortably and we include good quality bed linens and towels in all our rental rates.

A place to return to!
So here we are again back at Mountain View! Our 5th visit in 9 years! What started out as an experimental week in France during school holidays with our nine yr old has turned into a place we feel is like our secret getaway when we want to relax......each time the pristine house and the efficient host continue to deliver, and that amazing, ever changing view from the balcony always brings a smile to my face. Andrea treats us and especially my daughter like old friends....This last visit, with our daughter now 18 escaping from University, just confirmed how Mountain View will always have a special place in our hearts.
I cannot recommend it enough, there are always new places to discover, and favourites to return to (Homps, Lagrasse and Carcassonne obviously) and the must do walks or cycles along the Canal Du Midi mean we will, be back again.
I hope you give it a try and you too enjoy making memorable memories!

Casa estupenda en lugar tranquilo y vistas formidables.
Casa excelente y zona muy tranquila, tiene una terraza formidable donde hicimos estupendas cenas y desayunos mirando el paisaje.
Muy bien equipada, cuenta con todo tipo de accesorios y detalles en cocina baños, armarios etc. También tiene barbacoa. Dispone incluso de bolsas para ir a la compra, Además juegos, libros y folletos informativos de excursiones y lugares para visitar en los alrededores. Supermercado cercano y horno a 50 m.
La propietaria, muy amable, nos recibió y orientó perfectamente.
El único inconveniente que tuvimos durante la estancia fue el calor.
Coincidimos con una fuerte ola de calor y a pesar de que habían ventiladores en todas las piezas la habitación que se encontraba en la buhardilla era excesivamente calurosa y fue bastante difícil poder conciliar el sueño en los primeros días.
Pero a pesar de ello estuvimos formidable.

Alojamiento Ideal para conocer Carcassonne
Un apartamento ideal para nuestro viaje de 3 días para conocer Carcassonne y alrededores. Para 6 personas, decorado con un gusto estupendo, amplio, cómodo, equipado con todo lo necesario; cocina amplia y super completa. La chimenea funciona muy bien y es muy agradable. Las camas muy cómodas, la ropa de hogar como toallas y sábanas de muy buena calidad. Los baños amplios y funcionando todo perfectamente. Andrea, la propietaria, un encanto de persona. Hablaba con mi hijo en inglés y con nosotras en francés; simpática, amable y generosa. Una terraza espectacular, con vistas a viñedos. A pocos metros de la vivienda una panadería en la que venden un pan y unos bollos deliciosos, también hay cerca supermercado, parada de bus, farmacia. Muy bien localizada y cercana al canal Du Midi, que es también una maravilla. En resumen, todo genial.

Perfect! Wish we could have stayed longer.
It was the history of the building and the photos of the view in the listing that captured my attention, but Mountain View was even better than we could have imagined. Each of the rooms was thoughtfully furnished and the house was the best equipped rental any of us had ever seen, from all of the household basics to picnic supplies, cookbooks, and more. Andrea could not have been kinder, and she was willing to wait for our late arrival and even offered to bring in some shopping if we desired. The neighborhood of Le Fort was fascinating, and the lighted clocktower that was just steps away guided us back 'home' from miles away when we returned in the dark from our explorations of the day.The patisserie just below was a perfect stop each morning for croissants and baguettes, as well as a few other handy items.
We generally go on visits with so many places we'd like to visit that we end up wishing that we had much more time to relax and enjoy our temporary pied a terre. Mountain View is definitely such a place to enjoy the ambience and the surrounding views.

Great stay in lovely location
The property was great and Andrea was very accommodating and helpful. Convenient access to a number of lovely villages to explore as well as to Carcassonne itself. The bar nearby was an added bonus! Views from the terrace do not disappoint.

Great accommodation, fantastic view
We had a 5 day stay at Mountain view and loved it. Andrea gave us some "top tips" before out arrival on times/supermarkets etc which was much appreciated.
The accommodation itself is great - well equipped, clean, homely and has a fantastic view from the patio. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms worked out great for us, and the availability of books was appreciated, especially by me as I'd managed to leave mine on the plane.
There is a bakery less than 2mins walk away for breakfast and essentials.
It was a great location for day trips out to local towns and for sitting on the patio in the evening with a glass of wine.
I'd happily recommend this rental to others.

Outstanding holiday home with an incredible view
Everything is catered for in this gem of a holiday home. The accommodation is decorated and furnished to a high standard and all rooms are a good size. The excellent kitchen area has every utensil you would need and even has some cupboard basic food to get you started. The veranda has colourful plants and flowers and overlooks a view of mountains that have to be seen to be believed! It's a 5 minute walk to the historic canal and you can take canal trips in near by Trebes. It is even possible to hire a range of bicycles (located in the property) to explore the canal further. Trebes also has some excellent restaurants and farm produce shops. With historic Carcassonne 20 minutes away and coastal towns such as Narbonne 45 minutes away by car the accommodation is ideally positioned for a perfect holiday. A fantastic holiday home!!

Home away from home
What more could you want from a home away from home.
The pictures are exactly what you will find, 3 bedrooms generous in size; 2 bathrooms; in house library (the bookshelf is jammed 2 rows deep on each shelf with easy reading books & more meaty options); fully equiped kitchen & living area. The tv has every imaginable channel.
The highlight has got to be the terrace & the fabulous view. Enjoy breakfast as the sunrises or dinner as the sunsets. At quieter times of the day sit back & enjoy the birds song cause they are plentiful.
Andrea, the owner, has put a lot of care & love into her home. Finishing touches are high quality & the beds were very comfy. She has considered everything from entertaining guests, heading out for a picnic, wanting to cycle along the Canal or enjoying a family game night & catered for it all. Every time we thought oh I wonder if there is a.... it was there. She's also left guide books, maps and information on a range of local attractions. Thank you Andrea.
There is a wonderful little boulangerie around the corner & a few minutes walk to canal du midi. You are about 10 minutes drive to Trebes with some charming restaurants along the canal & supermarkets or 20 minutes to Carcassone with its medieval city, hypermarkets & even its own beach at the lake.
Parking is around the back of the property accessible via some stairs.
This is an older style French home, it has uneven flatstones as you enter the property so not idea for young children/disabled.
Great base to explore or disconnect. Will definitely book again.

excellent house to rest and enjoy the magnificent landscape
This house is one of the best we have ever been in. Every small detail is thought to make you feel more than confortable. A perfect view over the landscape. Situated in a silent town and with a nice owner always near to help us in any thing.
A perfect place to go with your family and pet either in summer or in winter. If you like to cook, you will find everything in the kitchen, even cooking books.

Local Information:The house is located on the border of the Corbieres and Minervois wine regions, so there are plenty of opportunities to take a guided wine tour or simply visit local producers to taste and purchase excellent local wines.Just 15 mins away is the medieval Cité de Carcassonne, a Unesco heritage site and an absolute must-see! 52 towers and two rings of fortified walls surround a bustling town with small, narrow cobbled streets lined with restaurants and boutique shops.The beautiful Canal du Midi is just a 5 minute stroll from the house. You can take a guided cruise or hire your own boat by the hour or day. The tree-lined canal tow paths are great for cyclists and walkers.
