The accommodation is arranged over three floors, the top floor being a large double bedroom with air conditioning. The middle floor is the lounge area with juliet balcony from where there is a stunning view across the land and valley opposite, there is also a shower room at this level with shower and wc. Finally on the ground floor is a modern kitchen diner and an additional bathroom. Newly converted the furnishings are modern and comfortable throughout and there is a lovely sense of peace and calm.
The many delights of South East Cornwall are all close at hand with wonderful coastal path walks, the bustling fishing port of Looe just a 15 minute drive down the road and numerous beaches to enjoy. The Cliff Top Cafe at Freathy should definitely be on the list of spots to visit, perhaps on the way to a walk at the stunning Rame Peninsula.
Roosters Rest has parking outside the building and can be booked with Horseshoe Cottage next door for parties of up to 6. One well behaved dog is welcome (please note that there are ducks on site and various farm animals nearby so you are fully responsible for your dog and ensuring that they are on the lead where necessary). The property is a mile away from two beaches that are pet friendly all year round - perfect for your four legged friend!

The cottage was in a beautifully quiet location. The cottage was well presented, clean and comfortable. I would recommend it as a place to stay with easy access to a beach, and the beauties of south Cornwall.

Excellent accommodation beautiful set out every thing you need is at hand , very quiet location plenty of places to visit are only a short drive or walk

Tolles Haus in ruhiger Lage
Sehr schönes und liebevoll eingerichtetes Haus in ruhiger Lage. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt, es hat uns an nichts gefehlt. Gastgeber Guy war ausgesprochen freundlich und zuvorkommend. Es liegt ein wenig abseits, um z.B. den Einkauf fussläufig zu erledigen, aber mit dem Auto sind es keine 10 Minuten. Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen!

Incredible getaway
Wow! What a fantastic cottage. We had the most amazing time and can't thank Guy and Family for their warm welcome and local knowledge.
Prime location to pop to the beach and beautiful land on site to roam and relax around in.
Already looking to book our holiday next year!

Perfect
This place is in a great location. Pubs and restaurants are not on it's doorstop but are within 20 minutes walk.
Plenty of kitchen equipment. Clean and tidy.
The owner was always available and very friendly.
I would definitely recommend the cottage and will return in the future.

Great accomodation in a peaceful location.
Approached down a narrow country lane but with ease in a large suv, there is ample parking and more for any guests that may visit. The property was clean and well maintained throughout, the property is spacious and and with good amenities over 3 floors with fabulous views of surrounding countryside, there is good wifi connection (if you want it ) there was plenty of outdoor space to explore and the owner always on hand to ensure your stay was a happy one.
No shop nearby so bring your first nights tuck.
Overall a great cottage peaceful and within easy reach of Downderry and Looe,
would certainly book a return trip and hope to very soon.

Superb
What a beautiful location and equally stunning accommodation.
The property had everything you could need to make it a home from home. A special mention to the Owner who made sure everything was perfect.
The village was a short walk (albeit a little steep on the way back!) where you find a shop, pub and two restaurants. We made use of all facilities!!
A thoroughly enjoyable holiday and it almost made us forget about the pandemic!
Would highly recommend.

About the neighborhood
Downderry is an ideal base for those who enjoy the coast, walking and the Cornish countryside. It is just along the coast from Looe with its bustling port and beach, harbour, shops, restaurants and pubs and the picturesque hamlet of Polperro is a fifteen minute drive. Plymouth is half an hour away by car with Truro & the north Cornish coast reachable in about an hour. For the more adventurous, Adrenalin Quarry is just a 25 minute drive away and there are great cycle trails at both Cardinham Woods and Lanhydrock (bike hire available at each).

Cornwall is a county on England’s rugged southwestern tip. It forms a peninsula encompassing wild moorland and hundreds of sandy beaches, culminating at the promontory Land’s End. There are a six steps from the parking area up the cottage level and then 2 further steps up to the front door. Internally there are two flights of stairs. Rooms have solid floors downstairs and carpets upstairs. There is limited head height in places in the bedroom.
