Sea Breeze, the one bedroom cottage I stayed in, was small but sufficient. This is not a party place. It is relaxed. At least when I was there, it was downright contemplative. I got a lot of reading, writing, and thinking done, which is exactly why I went for the long weekend. I loved walking out the door to the deck overlooking the Caribbean. The beach is not swimmable or fit for sunning because of old coral and rocks. But it is beautiful. The grill on the deck was nice. It worked! I notice the site still says boat available. There was a boat. But there were no oars or life jackets. So I wouldn't call it available. Getting the boat from the yard down to the water would be good exercise though. You can rent a car from the Thompsons. This simplifies life a lot. At Spencer's suggestion, I stopped for groceries on the way in. That was a good suggestion because the cottage is not real close to anything except nature and a few other cottages. If you want to get a fishing guide inquire early. All that sort of stuff is local and informal. This is not like staying on one of the seriously developed islands. The Leon Levy Native Plant Preserve is a beautiful place full of history and information as well as native plants. It is well worth the drive to Governor's Harbor. When you leave the Preserve, turn right and go down to the end of the road. Enjoy a Pain Killer and conch fritters on the deck of Tippy's Restaurant on the left. Spencer and Rosemary Thompson were excellent hosts. They provided information and assistance when needed and were otherwise unobtrusive. I appreciated Spencer making sure I was comfortable with driving on the left side of the road before letting me loose. Maintaining a high degree of vigilance while driving is essential. I nearly met my maker on the road to Tippy's when an oncoming dump truck decided to pass two cars. If they hadn't slammed on brakes to let him in and I hadn't braked hard, I wouldn't be writing this review. Here is an example of the Thompsons' graciousness. Spencer gave me a ride down to a weekly fish fry in Governor's Harbor. He came back early to make sure I was comfortable and having fun. He also asked around to see if any of the fishing guides he saw there were available. The ride from and to the airport with Spencer provided a good oral history lesson and economic/cultural summary too. Another example is Rosemary bringing me a battery powered lamp when power went out on the island for several hours. The Thompsons are good folks operating a nice place in a laid back, mostly rural, section of the island. If you are seeking nightlife and excitement Governor's Harbor would be a better bet. If you are after luxury and all sorts of experiences go to the north end and take a ferry or plane to Harbor Island.

Very clean, quiet, comfortable place. Centrally located on the island so travel north or south is not too bad. Close to several restaurants and Governor’s Harbor but far enough away to be more secluded and quiet. Owners are very kind and helpful. I would highly recommend them! The only negative is that the kayak provided was missing a lid to its hatch so water could get in it. I also didn’t see life jackets for the kayak. We would have liked to have used it but it didn’t seem like a good idea for those reasons. That wasn’t a big deal to us as there we stayed busy visiting different beaches, etc. I would stay here again as it is a really nice spot and very reasonably priced!

I went there to relax & recharge for the new year. I did just that. It was quiet, peaceful, not overcrowded with people. It was great.

Beautiful accommodation, comfortable and clean. Views of the sea and beach within near arms reach. The hosts are perfect...thank you both!

Still smiling from a great week at Spencer and Rosemary's Sea Side Villas. It is just like the pictures. Steps from the water and very nice accommodations. We truly felt blessed to be at this beautiful island with miles of beaches to just ourselves. The fun adventure began with Spencer picking us up at airport (bargain), letting us rent a car from them (again bargain), proceeded to the villa.The villa was perfect and clean. From there, we went to many beaches, snorkeling and soaking up the sun. We were shocked how unspoiled and remote this island is. No large chain grocery stores, fast food (just quaint seaside cafes and grills), or large hotels. No tourist trap type places. I would highly recommend this to anyone wanting a different vacation from the usual touristy all-inclusive vacay. Just be prepared for almost double the gas and food prices than the US. Also,DEET insect repellent is mandatory. We loved this place

I stayed here(Seabreeze with 1 bedroom in consist of 4 units) for 3 nights and it was safety and clean villa. Although it wasn't big villa, it have enough space for 2 people in one room. I think you cannot swim in the Caribbean Ocean in front of the villa, but there are many place to swim in the island. I strongly recommend you to swim in the Ocean Hall located in Rock Sound. Mr and Mrs Thompson were very kind to let us use thier snorkels freely and rent a car with reasonable price. I think you need a car to stay there more than 2nights. Mr Thompson picked us up at the North Eleuthera airport and took us to villa with also reasonable price (it may be much cheaper than taxi). Because it's located in the center of the island, you can easily move to southern part and to northern part in around 1-1.5 hours for each by a car. It was good travel for us with the villa and Thompson family, thank you.

The Thompson's were super accommodating. Definitely great hosts. The apartment was super clean and completely adequate. It was however very small so if you are the type to need space to spread out, it may not be the right fit. The view was beautiful and since we were the only ones there, it was truly peaceful. I would return to this rental if I were to visit Eleuthera again. Also, the added car rental was also very convenient plus for a reasonable fee Spencer will pick you up and drop you off from the airport. (About an hour drive). They made it easy!

Wow. I'll start off with the service. The proprietors Spencer and Rosemary were most welcoming. They picked us up free of charge from the GHB airport, rented us a vehicle for a reasonable price with no deposit fee because we were staying at their rental place, upgraded our vill from a one bedroom to a two bedroom for FREE, dropped us back to the airport for FREE. Listen to me, the service was beyond excellent. Anything we needed they were able to assist us with including OFF spray. Next I'll talk about the location of the villa. The villa is right off of the Queen's High in the settlement of Palmetto Point which is in Central Eleuthera. The Thompson's own a convenience store thats a 2 minute drive from the villa. The villa is very secluded. There are restaurants in the settlement and more in Governor's Harbour whih is about a 7 minute drive from the villa. beach front property, with a view from any window. Now I'll talk about the villa itself. Very clean feels like home, evertging is super clean. Nice ammenities, including stove, sink, washer and dryer, hair dryer, wifi, television, air-condition, games, books, high-top chairs, counter tops. Doesn't sound like heaven yet? Outside patio with chairs and tables and a grill on the beach. I hope I didn't forget anything. Just know that everything was AMAZING, you wont ever regret staying here. Price was reasonable also.

Before arriving to Eleuthera, we did not know Thompson’s Seaside Villas. We booked in October 2014 a bungalow on the Atlantic side of Eleuthera. When we arrived on December 28, we had the bad surprise to learn that the bungalow was not available any more. We spent the whole day to find something else to stay for the week (in the peak season!), and we found this little piece of heaven… After spending the whole day worrying, Spencer and Rosemary welcomed us, even at the very last minute, with smiles and kindness, and making sure the villa was clean and warm (a very beautiful bouquet of flowers was waiting for us!). And we spent such a wonderful week in this little piece of heaven! The villa is in a very quiet and safe location, with a beautiful nature around, and on the beach! The sunsets were amazing! The villa is so clean and so well equipped. 2 large bedrooms and bathrooms with very good beds, AC and mosquitos screens (yes, we needed them since there were sand flies during the evenings). The kitchen is fully equipped – and we had the TV and WIFI working well! Also, the terrace is amazing: large, with such a beautiful view, with many incredible shells! So, in conclusion: don’t miss this beautiful place and lovely owners… and it is so affordable compared to all the rentals in Eleuthera!
