Les Vignes is a new five bedroomed house set in the grounds of a family run vineyard, close to the village of Migron. The property is very spacious (approx 95m2 each floor) and surrounded by vines and farmland. It has a fully equipped kitchen with all the modern appliances. It has a bathroom and en-suite showeroom on the first floor with a wc on the ground floor. The house is secluded but by no means isolated, perfect for a relaxing holiday. It has ample parking in secure grounds with a patio area for relaxing or eating. During the summer, daylight lasts until around 10pm, and you will find yourself converted to outdoor living instantly. The Charente is second only to the Cote d Azur for quality of weather and hours of sunlight. There is also a 2 bed gite next door with the same spec.

Perfect Accommodation in a peaceful location, a more relaxing place can't exist
This property is very well equipped and comfortable. We arrived to welcoming and friendly hosts, the house was clean and well prepared.
The house is fantastic and spacious, plenty of space outside with lovely views of the countryside. The location is quiet and peaceful, so if you need a place to relax, this is perfect, amenities aren't far away and Cognac is only a short drive if you need more shops etc.
The hosts, Bernie and Sue are very friendly and helpful if you need anything, otherwise you are left to enjoy your holiday.
Thanks both, we can't wait to come back

Great stay at Les Vignes
Lovely 5 night stay at Les Vignes. The house is very well equipped and finished to a high standard.
The surroundings are beautiful and very peaceful but within easy reach of local towns/ villages.
Hosts Bernard and Sue were very helpful and accommodating with any requests / queries.
Would love to return - thank you 😊

A great holiday staying at Les Vignes.
We had a great holiday staying at Les Vignes, with plenty of activities nearby to keep the family occupied. Our hosts, Bernard and Sue were very welcoming, kind and helpful. They were on hand when needed, which wasn't often, but it was good to have that reassurance.
The villa was clean - we couldn’t fault it. I’d recommend a visit to the Ecomusée next door - interesting to see the history of Cognac making and tasting a few samples. And the bread in the local boulangerie was a perfect start to each day.

Perfect Holiday Home
We really enjoyed our week in this beautiful property. It is spacious and comfortable with everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Its close to some lovely places to visit like Saint Jean D'Angely and Cognac.
The kids really enjoyed the pool!
The owners were friendly and there to help whenever we needed them. We would love to come back soon and enjoy the peaceful surroundings and views of the vineyards!

Fabulous house.
Well what a fantastic find. The house is lovely and very well equipped and well maintained. It's a great base for visiting Cognac, Saintes and Saint-Jean-D' Angely (where we had some great meals).
The kids loved the pool and there was plenty of room for them to run around safely.
The owners were very kind and friendly. They live near by which was helpful as my husband got tonsillitis and needed a Drs appointment , which the owner took the time to arrange for us. Thank you again for a lovely stay. We hope to return.

Lovely house, fantastic hosts who were available if needed, but not intrusive.
A lovely house in a beautiful setting. We had a lovely time.
The property is reasonably positioned for access to a river for kayaking and just over an hour from the beach.
The bakery in Migron is close enough to cycle to and the bread is fabulous.

Super locatie om heerlijk tot rust te komen
Afgelopen juli/aug. zijn we hier 2 weken geweest, met 4 volwassenen, 2 tieners en 3 kleuters. In de plaats zelf is niets te doen, maar in de omgeving is van alles te doen. In het huis is alles aanwezig en als iets het niet meer doet staat Bernie ( de eigenaar ) direct voor je klaar. Bernie en Sue ( zijn vrouw ) zijn echt super lieve mensen en zijn altijd bereid je met van alles te helpen. Wij zijn zeker van plan nog een keer terug te gaan, je komt hier heerlijk tot rust en voor ieder wat wils.

Fabulous holiday in the vineyards
We have just returned home from our second visit to Les Vignes. It is a great place to unwind and relax being so peaceful and relaxing set amongst the vineyards. There were eight of us altogether with ages ranging from 4 to 69 years. The house has plenty of space and 5 bedrooms making it ideal for large groups and families.
Although we had a mix of sun and rain, there is plenty to do in the region if you look for it. One of our favourite days was spent cruising down the Charente river in boats hired from a local village. We also visited local markets and Cognac producers - gentle fun with something to eat and drink to show for it. Shopping is handy with a convenience store and Boulangerie in Migron village, only two minutes away, and a supermarket in Burie about 10 minutes drive. Best value was to go to Cognac or Matha and visit the large InterMarche stores to do a weeks shop.
We drove down from Roscoff this time and took about 6 hours to drive down, without any problems. In fact the roads are a joy with so little traffic compared to our own.
I would highly recommend this house and location for anyone looking for a relaxing, rural escape.
Many thanks to Bernie and Sue, the owners. They live nearby and are there if you need any help or information, but completely let you get on with it otherwise. See you next time.

Relaxing holiday
We stayed at the house at end of Aug for a week. As the other reviews have said it is in a great rural location, set back well away from the already quiet road. The house is around 3 years old and is finished to a very high standard. It has everything that you would find at home, dishwasher, washing machine etc etc. We were a group of 4 and there were more plates, cups & cutlery than we could ever use & it was all like new. Bernard the owner lives nearby but is at work all day so you only see him if you want something. It was nice to know that we had an English owner that we could call 24/7 if required. Overall it is a lovely clean, comfy family house that guarantees a peaceful relaxing holiday.

Beautiful house and location, great family holiday
Just returned from a terrific holiday at Les Vignes. Booking was made easy by the owner, Bernie, who was very helpful. The house is set on the edge of a working vineyard with great scenery all around and a real sense of peace and tranquility. A rural idyll, but only a couple of minutes down to Migron Village, for the Boulangerie and local shops.
What a house - 5 large bedrooms, all with great views, and downstairs is light and airy with large rooms and very well equipped kitchen. Set in it's own grounds, the outside is a great place to relax in with a good pool and plenty of outdoor furniture. Most of our time was spent outside and it was a great venue for noisy young children who could play freely without fear of any neighbour being disturbed.
The local area had plenty of places to visit and it was a bit like stepping back into a bygone age, more tranquil and slower paced than at home - lovely!
Thanks for a great holiday Bernie - we hope to see you again soon.

About the neighborhood
You need only step outside the gates to appreciate the beautiful countryside ideal for walking or cycling. Also there is a museum locally covering the process of cognac distillery and chocolate making. Slightly further afield you will find the small town of Matha which has restaurants and bars and watersports. Local markets are held on various days and are highly recomended paticularly the ones at St Jean D'Angely or Saintes. All through the summer various fetes or activities are taking place in one of the many local communes, the area is made up of literally hundreds of small hamlets linked to a larger commune.

By Car: Once reaching Calais, the journey by car is approx 8 hours and is mostly all motorways. Alternatively, there is a ferry service from Portsmouth to St. Malo, reducing your car journey to around 4 hours.<BR><BR>By Air: Ryanair fly to La Rochelle and Angouleme / Cognac, from both Stansted and Dublin Airports. Both airports are approximately a 1 hour drive from the property.
