Nestled in the picturesque village of La Ferriere aux Etangs in rural Normandy and close to the medieval city of Domfront and spa town of Bagnoles de L'Orne, our delightful cottage consists of 2 double bedrooms both with en suite facilities and a kitchen, dining , and living room.<BR><BR>Our terraced stone built cottage has been sympathetically restored and refurbished. The open plan ground floor has a fireplace with a wood-burning stove and a fully fitted kitchen with fridge, electric cooker and washer/drier. It has a comfortable sitting area and diner. The first floor has a double bedroom with en suite luxury bathroom. The top floor has a second double bedroom with an en suite bathroom with shower. High Standard - Positioned Well
The owner of this cottage was very easy to deal with and communication was good. The cottage, which has been renovated to a high standard, is in an attractive village with food shops, restaurants (not open in August) a cash point and close to many places worthy of a visit. It was great to come home each evening after exploring the nearby towns, villages & countryside and know there was a comfy bed and your own bathroom waiting. Someone living locally met us when we arrived ( we could have had a basket of food or a prepared meal) who could be contacted should there have been an issue which was reassuring. Highly recommend the local cidre.

Delightful property in a lovely low key setting
This little cottage offered everything myself, my husband and his parents who were visiting from New Zealand could wish for. The accomodation was comfortable and the bedooms and ensuites were roomy and of a very good standard. There are many charming towns and villages to visit in the area and we were able to visit quite a few during our stay. The little town was unspoilt and made an ideal haven to return to after our busy days out and about. Within easy each were Bayeaux, the Normandy Beaches, the Medieval town of Domfront, Bagnoles deL'Orme to name but a few.
Parking was easy and safe. All in all a wonderful time was had by all.

Enjoyable house,town area.
This was a good experience from start to finish from booking to travel information, accommodation . We had our car and lots of visiting and walking was easy to find with good parking just down the road.The nature of this attractive village meant that we had no fears for our car or ourselves.

La Ferriere aux Etangs is a charming Normandy Village situated 1.5 hours due south of Caen ferry port midway between Flers and the medieval city of Domfront, in the Orne district of Normandy. The village has a full range of shops and amenities including welcoming bars, charcuterie and epicerie. A boulangerie-patisserie is located next door. There is a fishing lake adjacent to the village.<BR><BR>There are several restauarants nearby to satisfy every taste. For a quality gastronomic experience, we recommend Auberge de la Mine, which is only a couple of kilometres away. There are other delightful restaurants in nearby towns and villages.
