A comfortable, well equipped and spacious rural retreat idealy suited to families and set in four acres of beautiful french countryside. It is in a quiet location but within easy access to local amenities and outdoor pursuits. The surrounding area is ideal for walking, cycling and fishing.
This is a superb base for touring this interesting area and getting a taste for the real France. The beautiful fortressed town of Fougeres with its excellent shops, restaurants and cafes is only 20 minutes away. Local shops, bars and restaurants are only 5 minutes away. Many of the local towns have weekly markets which are definitely worth a visit.
Why not barbecue on arrival and relax with a complimentary bottle of wine or a few beers.

Really great holiday accommodation
Lovely barn conversion that felt like home. Very well equipped, extremely spacious and comfortable. Our children really liked the pool, table football and cycles that were available to use. Great location, lots to see and do in the surrounding area and extremely peaceful in the evening. Loved watching a hare in the garden too!

Lovely relaxing week.
We stayed at La Danvoliere in May half term and loved how peaceful the area was. The barn is very impressive, clean, tidy and with plenty of space inside and out.
There is plenty to do in the local areas and all the information for these is well displayed within the barn.
A great family holiday in rural France.

Vacation stay
We had a lovely stay at the barn had all the amenities we needed. Very rural transport needed to get to nearby villages for shopping, large supermarket ten minutes away by car. Coast line beaches 55 miles away we visited quite a few times. Different locations. The barn was done to a good standard with lots of space. Only disappointment for us was we was informed last minute that the pool we was expecting and looking forward to was not available and sadly the smaller pool was punctuated and unusable. If we had known this in a reasonable time we would have booked somewhere else with a pool. But we made the most of our stay. I would recommend this rental to others if they didn’t won’t a pool.

Hi. Thanks for your review. Unfortunately there was a drought I'm the Summer which was very bad in that area of France. We were not allowed to use hose pipes or put the large above ground pool up as normal.

A beautiful holiday!
We had a great holiday at La Danvoliere. The barn has been beautifully renovated, is spacious, very clean and has everything you need for a very comfortable and relaxing stay. The open plan kitchen/living room and big bedrooms are great for families or groups of friends and the outdoor space is private and perfect for relaxing in the sun and having bbqs. It was so quiet and peaceful with the highlight of our trip being star gazing in the garden, something we can’t whilst living in London. We were also kept very busy in the day time exploring all the lovely old towns that were just a short distance by car from La Danvoliere - we will definitely be back!

A great week in the French sun!!
We had an amazing stay at the barn, the great weather helping us to enjoy all of the outdoor space, including the loungers, lawn and BBQ! The barn was huge and open plan, making it great for family fun and the rooms were clean and spacious too. We enjoyed plenty of trips in the local region to smaller towns and villages, there’s loads of activities nearby. The day trip to St Malo was a particular highlight! We loved our stay and couldn’t recommend the property enough - hope to be back again next year!

Beautiful house in a lovely location
We spent a week in La Danvoliere. The house was spacious, beautifully furnished, comfortable and clean and had everything we could need. The garden was lovely and the hamlet was peaceful. The area offered many things to do for a young family from visits to the Aquatis waterpark in Fougeres and the kids highlight the Ange Michel theme park. With many a small and large town a short drive away! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend staying at La Danvoliere.

Glorious Fortnight= Excellent House
We had a fabulous 2 weeks in La Danvoliere. The house was brilliant. Beautifully renovated. Large spacious living areas and bedrooms for 4 big teenagers. Mark and Alison have thought of everything. We needed for nothing. Gorron town 10 mins away is great for shopping and eating. Le Papillon serve excellent food. We would love to come back again and next time fly into Rennes (1hour) instead of Paris (3.5hours)

a great holiday house
We enjoyed our stay in this lovely renovated and decorated barn. The weather was not so good, so we couldn´t really use the pool. There is a nice garden, with enough space for the kids. The region is also very nice, we loved Fougères and the Mont-Saint-Michel. And staying in on a rainy day is no problem, the house is big enough and there are games and a DVD-player. There are shops nearby in Gorron. In short eveything is present to have a great holday.

Fantastic holiday at a lovely barn!!!!
Just back from 10 nights at La Danvloiere....had a surperb time. The barn is equipped with everything and my two boys (aged 12 and 15) were fully occupied with the pool, football nets outside, bikes, table tennis and indoor football table as well as a great choice do DVDs in the evening. Tons of room for the four of us. We have great days out at the chateau in Fougeres, went canoeing, the boys went paint balling...and the outdoor pool in Ambrieres-les-Vallees was great fun too. Thoroughly recommended.
