Traditional cottage restoration with wonderful views of Liscannor Bay. A secluded and tranquil setting near Lahinch on the Wild Atlantic Way.

Traditional 1840's West Clare Cottage with wonderful views of Liscannor Bay. 5 mins drive from Lahinch, <10 mins drive to Spanish Point, 15 mins drive to Cliffs of Moher and The Burren National Park.
Very high specification with all modern amenities, including wifi, and an area suitable for remote working.
Two sitting rooms with two wood burning stoves and televisions.
There are two bathrooms: one downstairs and one upstairs, both with showers. Three bedrooms: one king sized downstairs and two double upstairs. A fully equipped kitchen with an island for additional food preparation space.

lovely relaxing cottage
we had a week in the cottage and it was top quality. Everything was of a high standard. The fixtures and fittings were very tasteful. The bed and bedding was so comfortable, no trouble sleeping and very quiet. Once the cottage was warm you didn't need the central heating as the open fire heated the water, radiators as well as the cottage. We even received some free range eggs from the owner which were very nice. I would recommend the cottage and I hope this review will help people to decide to stay. The cottage is down a long lane and very safe and also very peaceful.
The only down side was that it is only 4km from Lahinch but the road is not really safe for walking into town.

Outstanding!!!
From start to finish, the communication, directions the free fresh eggs on arrival was perfect. The cottage is by far the best accommodation that we as a family have ever rented.....I am reluctant to praise this place incase anyone else rents it and its never available for us to return. 4km to the beach is not a problem as its only 2 minutes in the car, every detail is beautiful, you can tell that the owners really love this place....go rent you'll never be disappointed.

the very best.
such a wonderful holiday... truly needed a rest from home & work. 5 weeks that flew by sooo very fast. 1st couple of weeks on my own & then 1dear friend from wales & 1 from the usa. we were all happy in this beautiful house. Sheila was great host. could not have asked for more. and yes FRESH EGGS. i will be back in 2013. Thank you Sheila for a great holiday.

Awesome home with even better views
This cottage is so well put together. It has everything you need and it is charming as well. The owner was very kind and very helpful. The rooms were great and the tub was great for soaking and reading a book.

Lovely in every way.
If you are looking for a little piece of heaven look no further. Situated near the town of Lahinch on the west coast of Ireland this cute and cozy cottage has it all, including incredible views of the town, beaches and the famous Cliffs of Moher. The cottage is a great home base for your day trips and very near to the Aran Islands, the Cliffs and the Burren. Lahinch itself is a lovely little surf town with great food and pubs coupled with delightful and friendly people. The views from the patio are exceptional, especially as you watch the sun set into the north Atlantic. Your host Sheila is very welcoming and even dropped off farm fresh eggs in the morning! All in all highly recommended in every way.

A perfect place to get away
This is an incredible cottage, beautifully restored with everything you could possibly need. So many places are over-described, overcharge and give you as little as possible in return. Only the opposite can be said of Bar Tra and its owners. Fresh eggs on arrival and plenty of firewood to get you settled in. They are close by if you need them for anything but leave you in peace otherwise. I came here for a week to work and didn't want to leave! I will most certainly be back again. Thanks so much Sheila for a restorative stay. It was exactly what I needed :)

Such a beautiful place to stay
This cottage is beautiful, inside and out. The owners have put a lot of effort and money in to restoring it and making it one of the nicest self catering homes we have ever stayed in. Bedrooms are spacious with lots of storage, beds really comfy. The cottage is really homely with lots of lovely pictures, books to read and fantastic views of Liscannor bay. We hope to return some day. We stayed with young kids and found the place child friendly. The owner was very kind, dropped us some of her hens fresh eggs and some fuel for the stove on our first day.

Complete Bull
Property looked ideal and was available for the period we needed according to Tripadvisor, so we enquired about booking.
Turned out the information on Tripadvisor was complete bull****. Even after the owner told us it was not available it was still showing available.
My advice would be do not waste your time with Tripadvisor when it comes to looking for rental properties.

We regret that the property was not available for your preferred dates. It is listed on more than one site and has lots of repeat bookings many of which come directly to Sheila on her cell phone (listed on holiday lettings site). lovely cottage in ideal location
This is really lovely accommodation. Bar Tra is very private and the views are gorgeous. It is a perfect location for touring stunning Co. Clare. The cottage was warm, comfortable and very well equipped, it also had lots of character and was very welcoming. The processes of booking, arriving and departure were seemless and classy. Highly recommended.

Amazing
We absolutely loved this property. It was different to anywhere we had ever rented before. It was so welcoming, sumptuous furnishings and the walls were covered in the most amazing artwork with a flavour that was very fitting for the area that the house is in. The location is stunning with easy access to a major surfing beach and spectacular Atlantic cliff walks. Our hostess was most welcoming, having warmed it up in advance and set the stove for us. There were also 12 fresh free range eggs left for us. We'll be back
