Cottage
This newly converted stone cottage was originally a 17th century stable block where Lord Bandon kept his horses. Nearby are the “Old Coachhouses”. Set in the grounds of Rock Cottage Country House. The conversion, completed in late 2016, is to the highest standard with a fully fitted kitchen, open plan living room with dining area. Separate bedroom with a modern en suite shower room & WC. This sensitive conversion offers all modern conveniences on the inside, but preserving its historic character on the outside. It is situated in the walled courtyard/garden of a Georgian hunting lodge dating back to 1826. The property stands on 17 acres of garden, paddocks and heather covered hills. A short walk leads onto a hill, where the stunning views over Dunmanus Bay and the rugged landscape unfold ...This newly converted stone cottage was originally a 17th century stable block where Lord Bandon kept his horses. Great Trip
I have to confess i booked this place purely on the pictures of the owners Golden Retrievers as we travel with our own two!! From the moment we drove up the driveway and saw Saffron & Elsa running to meet us, I was content!! The Stables are part of a beautiful complex of holiday accommodation behind the main house ( which is itself stunning) Upon arrival Jackie & Jonathan ( also Saffron& Elsa) couldnt have been more welcoming even down to the freshly laid eggs and flowers left for us in the kitchen!! We had a great week and our own two Goldies, ( Meg who tried to move into the ' big house') loved it and haven't moved since we returned home. Could go on and on but just want to finish with Thank-you to Jackie & Jonathan best wishes !!!!

The perfect place for an idyllic getaway in Ireland.
Located in one of the most beautiful spots on Earth, a stay in The Stables along the Wild Atlantic Way in West Cork will make all your cares seem far away. I have been traveling extensively in Ireland for over 40 years and this is easily one of the very best accommodations for singles or couples I have stayed in. The little house is warm and cozy, has all the modern conveniences of home and then some. It is peaceful and quiet and surrounded by the such extreme beauty it seems like a dream. It is perfect for a weekend getaway, or an extended stay. The owners Jackie and Jonathan are the best, very friendly and helpful. Skip all the usual tourist haunts and stay here to experience the real Ireland!

What a great place
To get away from it all, I couldn't have selected a better location. The views, walks and countryside are stunning. The accommodation was perfect, to a high spec with every convenience thought about. Parking was no issue. The secluded spot makes it a wonderful to relax, in comfort. Our hosts are a charming couple, who have thought of everything to make our stay enjoyable.

The perfect country escape
Log fires, country walks on our doorstep and the cosiest home to come back to - we couldn’t have asked for more. With the beach a short drive away, our Christmas Day was a real country escape. Jonathan and Jackie were the perfect hosts, whilst the donkeys, chickens and ducks were great fun to visit each morning as well! The Stables at Rock Cottage are a hidden gem and we can’t wait to get back.

Fabulous place
We thoroughly have enjoyed our stay at The Stables at Rock Cottage Country House. The Stables is a refurbished horse stable and is comfortable, cozy and warm. Our hosts, Jackie & Jonathon are very nice, check in to see if we need anything & provide access to the entire farm. They recommend walking trails, places of interest & delicious local restaurants. The donkeys, chickens, ducks, sheep, cows & dogs made our stay extra special. We highly recommend the Stables at Rock Cottage Country House.

Delightful
Top-notch accommodation, very cosy especially with a little log-burner action, in lovely, peaceful surroundings, this is a great base for exploring a pretty stunning part of the planet. Jacqueline was not around but Jonathan was the perfect host, charming, friendly, helpful but never intrusive, and supplying me with freshly -laid duck eggs for breakfast. Hard to see how my experience could have been improved.

Great Cottage
It is was a wonderful place to stay. The host was friendly, and knowledgeable about the area. The house was a nice size for two. It was unseasonably cold during our visit, so we used the fire place - which was very cozy. The attached photo is the view from a trail moments from the house. We also loved the nearby town. If there over a sunday - hit the farmers market! Also consider dropping into Enibas for some amazing Irish made jewelry - often the owner is working the shop. Be sure to visit Mizen Head! Our only regret was not staying longer. We stayed for three nights - I wish we had stayed for 4-5.
