Robertswood is the ideal destination for the larger groups, whether it's for a family reunion, a walking holiday or just a group of friends meeting up to share some time together. Robertswood boasts the fact that all our bedrooms are en-suite with baths and/or showers. The kitchen is very large and designed to cater for 16 people or more, The South facing dining room can seat up to 18 people in comfort and there is ample space in the lounge/bar area for all. Robertswood has a large private car park to the front of the building which can park up to 12 vehicles and extra parking to the side of the house. The spa garden is at the side of the house directly off of the bar area. This is available to book for a further £450 per weekend. Please note that we don't take dogs.
We had a lovely 4 generation holiday at this brilliant house. Very clean and well equipped for catering for our group of 16 plus young children. Every bedroom was comfortable with en suite. (It would have benefited from a downstairs loo.) Lashings of hot water - too hot if not careful - and heating needed tweaking down too - both preferable to being too cold. Owners were very friendly and on hand quickly to answer queries and sort out an issue we had. Matlock is walkable but its quite a climb back - but only what you can expect for such a clear view across the valley. Loads to do in the area - we went to Heights of Abrahams, the tram museum and a bike ride along the disused railway. The hot tub and sauna were quite an expensive extra but were very well used - apparently the decking is due to be replaced imminently. The garden is small but big enough for a few garden games. Overall we had a terrific time and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

Lovely Location
This was our 4th Family gathering at Robertswood & once again it was wonderful. Having all en-suite bedrooms is very convenient the garden is beautiful to sit on a sunny day - we were lucky enough to have fab weather. There are also many attractions within a short drive.

Fabulous place for a celebration
I booked the house for a week to celebrate my 70th birthday. People came from all over the UK and Australia . The house is ideal for large groups and each room having its own bathroom is a real bonus. The views from the house are superb and on the day of my party we were able to use the front garden as the weather was beautiful. The bar room is great and the ambience of the whole house is wonderful. Excellent value . We had a marvellous time.

great space, served its purpose
Great space, lots of bathrooms, big kitchen, big dining room, big lounge, nice bar area-all well kitted out, nice hot tub and outside area, nice views.
Some areas are a little dated but generally clean and tidy.
Could have benefitted from being able to turn the heating down ourselves.
Cooking sunday dinner we did trip the electric but the owners were available on the phone to help immediately.

Fantastic weekend home with great views!
Robertswood House, near to Matlock, is a first class property with brilliant views. All 9 bedrooms are ensuite and very comfy. We had a fabulous weekend celebrating my father-in-laws 80th birthday. He said it was "beyond his wildest Dreams." We were a party of 16 and the facilities were more than adequate with plenty of dining space, lovely big kitchen where I was able to prepare a full roast dinner for all. We also booked the spa garden. This was more than worth it. We spent a lot of time in and out of the hot tub in various groups. It was tranquil within a beautiful setting. Matlock and Matlock bath are on the doorstep and we spent a lovely Saturday visiting the Heights of Abraham. Would definitely recommend this property especially if you are a large family or group of friends who just want to spend time together.

Fabulous house for big groups/families
We were a groupie of 17 adults and a one year old. We were there for my 60 th birthday, we all had an amazing time, the house was spotlessly clean, each and every one of our group could not find any fault. We also booked the hot tub at last minute, so glad we had, it was great, some one was always in it.
The bedrooms were all lovely and again spotless. We hope to be back.

Great place, Good location in Matlock. Spacious and perfect
The location was spot on, with great views of the valley from afar. Massive place, we had 17 guests and there was plenty of room for all of us. Cracking place for something a little bit different. All in all, a memorable experience, and will certainly recommend!

Brilliant
Having ensuite bedrooms for a large group is a big bonus. There was plenty of room to feel comfortable where ever you were.
It was central to get out and about.
Great views. I would certainly recommend it

Perfect for large bookings
This house provided a great solution to our problem of how to house 9 couples and their children for a weekend. The generous proportions of the house meant that, despite our large numbers, we all had more than adequate space. The dining room and kitchen are perfect as they allow us to cook and dine together with ease. All this is topped off with the added advantages of the bar area, on-suites in every room and fantastic views and location. This is the second time we have stayed at Robertswood and we plan to return next year also.

In Matlock town centre is the wonderful Hall Leys park where you can relax as a family or play tennis, bowels or putting on the green. There is a superb childrens play area and boating lake. The park cafe is very popular with outside seating and a takeaway service. For the keep fit there is a new leisure centre and swimming complex.
