This is without a doubt the best holiday cottage we have ever stayed in. Location is perfect with a pleasant walk through the park to shops, cafes, restaurants and river. Inside is beautifully decorated and styled, very well equipped and above all warm, comfortable and welcoming. The kitchen lacks for nothing, bedding is top quality, towels amazing and so many little extra touches including a more than generous welcome basket. We had mixed weather but would have been quite happy to stay inside for the whole week!

We absolutely loved our weekend at Rose Cottage and wouldn’t hesitate to stay again. The cottage is situated a short walk from the town centre, easily found and with plenty of amenities nearby. The property has been renovated and decorated beautifully, real attention to detail and very warm, cosy and welcoming. There was a really generous welcome hamper, kitchen is well equipped and comprehensive information booklet. Huge thanks to Emma for her flexibility and for making us so welcome.

We had a really comfortable stay. Unfortunately it was in the middle of some very bad weather but Rose Cottage more than made up for it. The whole property has clearly been lovingly restored and it was easy to feel very relaxed there. All the little details had been thought about. The kitchen had everything we needed and there were plentiful games, books and toys on offer for our two year old that we needn’t have brought along so many of our own. The master bedroom with its super king double was great. The cottage has a great location - it’s got a pub and takeaway on the doorstep, all the other shops of Matlock only a short walk away and it is very easy to travel to any part of the Derbyshire Dales or further afield into the Peak District with relative ease. In short, we had a fantastic time and would heartily recommend Rose Cottage.

Great location we loved walking into Matlock through the park and there are lots of beautiful places to visit in the Peak District. The cottage was amazing and everything you could wish for. The welcome pack was very lovely plus all the little treats was very much appreciated. The bedrooms were gorgeous plus a lovely bathroom and everything was lovely and clean. Will definitely be back to stay in the future.

What a superb find with attention to detail at every turn. The owners were very quick to respond with thoughtful attention to our booking and arrival/departure emails. The cottage itself was so comfortable because everything had been thought of...every room well furnished and the kitchen had plenty of crockery, cutlery and cooking equipment - which for a food loving family of six adults was just what we needed. From cosy throws and small edible treats in every bedroom and living area to fresh flowers on the dining table, every aspect was welcoming, clean and comfortable. Everything about our stay at Rose Cottage was exceptional and we will definitely return as well as recommending it to friends and family.

Stunning property. Tasterly decorated to a very high standard. The level of quality of furnishings and the interior design is on par with a top quality boutique hotel. Emma and Dan have anticipated their guests needs with all the lovely little touches. A great chippy in walking distance plus a micro brewery pub again a very very short distance away. It's a shame we only stayed for a long weekend.

Rose Cottage is possibly the best equipped self catering place we have stayed in, we found everything we needed to cook if we wanted. There were loads of games and books for down time, lots of local walking routes from the door.

We stayed at Rose Cottage for a weekend break and loved it. The cottage was immaculate and there were so many thoughtful touches and the welcome basket was a lovely surprise. We would highly recommend staying here.

We have stayed in many cottages over the years but this is definitely the best one yet. Plenty of space and excellently furnished and really well equipped with seemingly everything thought about. Some of the touches were very thoughtful and more like a hotel, with a lovely welcome hamper and soap/toiletries provided. Also a great location, within east walking distance of the town. Can’t recommend highly enough.
