A well-equipped kitchen boasts an AGA range cooker so the budding chefs in your party can whip up a fabulous meal. A dining room seating twenty two, a very spacious sitting room with a woodburning stove and a snug with an open fire complete the accommodation. So you can be assured of plenty of room to relax and spend that all important time together.
Outside there is a beautifully manicured walled garden with a patio area plus barbecue and seating for that al fresco dining experience. Also, to the rear, is a large paddock where children (and adults) can let off steam, so no matter how much energy they have, they can wear themselves out in safety.
This magnificent House is a superb base for discovering all the The Peak District National Park has to offer. Walk or cycle straight from the door in any direction. Just three miles away is the market town of Bakewell, famous for the Bakewell Pudding, or take a short drive to the spa town of Buxton with its Opera House. Alternatively, spend a day at the spectacular Chatsworth House or visiting nearby Haddon Hall.
There is something for everybody to enjoy.

We were a mixed group of walkers and off-road cyclists - and we had an amazing time at Castle Cliffe. Obviously the surrounding countryside, Monsal Trail, off-road cycling and walking opportunities, and local eateries were all fantastic. And of course, Castle Cliffe is a great, well placed venue from which to enjoy all those things. The house was well appointed, bedrooms really comfortable, and plenty of facilities available for everyone. Nice touches such as having boiling water on tap for tea and coffee meant that we never had a queue forming in the kitchen. Definitely recommend for a large group!

A good time was had by all
We had a very successful family get-together with three generations at this spacious and very well equipped house. The location is wonderful with awe-inspiring views in many directions. The playfield behind the house was large and secure and well-mown,ready for our 5 children, ranging from 5 to 12 years. There is a goal provided. Our children also played cricket and badminton! We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Fantastic house in great location
The house is in the most amazing position with views all around. Very well furnished, clean and comfortable. Able to accommodate our 4 generations of family very happily. Kitchen extremely well equipped. We had fantastic weather so the garden was in good use as was the meadow for the little ones to run around.

Fantastic House for a Group
We've been cominbg here every year for 6 years now - big house sleeps 23 of us, in a fantatsic location near Bakewell. Lots of walks nearby, including the disused ralway, and a brillinat traditinal pub 5 minute walk away. The house is very warm, also has an open fire, 2 ovens, and mostly on-suites. Neil & Jackie are great hosts, always contactable, and we love staying here.

The best holiday house we have ever stayed in!
Our group of six familes (of university friends) started meeting up annually in different holiday houses in 1996. We have enjoyed a number of different houses over the years, but Castle Cliffe is the first house we have returned to for four consecutive visits and we have already booked for 2023. Neil and Jackie are terrific and flexible hosts.
The house is so comfortable and well equipped. It's unusual to find a kitchen with enough fridge and cupboard space for provisions to feed so many - and exceptional that every every accessory/utensil has been considered and provided. It may seem obviouus, but so many houses are missing a garlic press, or cheese grater, or silicon spatula etc. Not Castle Cliffe - it's all here!
Don't want to underestimate the terrific view over the valley and easy proximity to some spectacular walks. A pint in the Packhorse is always welcome, and for those who prefer indoor comfort, the numerous board games and jigsaws make Castle Cliffe our favourite place for a lazy afternoon with the fire lit.
We have always been welcomed by a tin of Jackie's marvellous home-made brownies. Another lovely touch.
Thanks Neil and Jackie for another fabulous stay

Excellent property
This was genuinely a fantastic property. Plenty of room for 5 families & really well kitted out with everything we could have needed. The space was amazing for the kids (esp the field they could run wild in!) beds were comfy, everything was clean & a nice standard. The gorgeous home made brownies a really lovely treat we discovered! Really good value for what we got, thank you.

beautiful house in a great location right at the heart of the peaks
We had a lovely family weekend at Castle Cliffe to celebrate my mother's 92nd. the house was perfect and the garden very peaceful. We were at first concerned that the nearby road might impact on us but frankly we hardly noticed it at all. The pub in the nearby village was excellent and there were great walks direct from the house. Highly recommend it to anyone

Perfect!
This is our 2nd visit to Castle Cliffe and we are planning a return trip next year. It's a great family friendly home from home with all the facilities you could need both inside and out for those from little ones to my 92 year old dad. There's plenty of space to be together or in smaller groups. We all loved it. It was a pleasure dealing with Jackie and Neil - and the brownies were as delish as last time :) Highly recommended.

A great find!
Castle Cliffe was a perfect house to stay in - we were 19 plus three babies and it really felt like there was plenty of room for us all. A large table and well equipped kitchen made it easy to eat together, and the through lounge worked well. The views are incredible and made for some amazing walks, which were made all the easier for the print outs that someone has taken the time to put together. Many of our party were already checking out future dates to see if they could book it up with family and friends, but were not surprised to see it was fully booked for a year to come!
