In the summer you can sit in the garden and listen to the cluck of hens as they lay you a free range egg! Leigh Barn was originally an 18th Century Tithe Barn, converted in 2006 and renovated to the highest standard in 2012, offering luxury accommodation for 12 people (13 using sofa bed). The style is open and airy French chic with personal touches throughout. Unlimited use of the state of the art gym and sauna is also included in the price. This Grade II listed ancient dwelling dates back to the 14th Century. The old bread oven and meat/ fish smoking oven are still evident and the old stone floor bears the marks of the axe where the wood was cut to fuel the fires. Leigh House is believed to date from 1574 and was part of a farm estate given by Elizabeth I to Robert Leigh. The property extends over 4.5 acres and includes the Tithe Barn and the Bake House. It was a wealthy estate in its day and the depth of the well in the courtyard indicates that it was a property of significant importance. In the early Eighteenth Century it was owned by Robert Taylor who lived in the main house and manufactured cheeses in the cheese loft, now a bedroom over the kitchen. It was converted in 2006 and has been completely refurbished by the current owners who have retained the original features, selected fine furnishings and original works of art. The Bake House is reached through an old latchet gate beneath arched boughs and opens into a courtyard with topiary trees, lavender beds and a pretty fountain tumbling into a pond of water lilies. Beautifully furnished, this compact cottage style home has been painted throughout with Farrow and Ball paints and has a comfortable 'L' shaped sofa and armchair to seat 5 and large TV with DVD. There is a cosy wood burning stove in the old fireplace with a window seat and curtains in Ian Mankin fabrics. There is a pull out dining table with 5 chairs The downstairs double bedroom has beamed ceilings and its own original fireplace (no longer in use). One window opens onto the courtyard whilst the other overlooks the potager and walled garden. There is an oak wardrobe, an oak framed bedstead and a little hand basin with fluffy white towels. The triple room upstairs has a spacious king sized bed along with a single bed under oak beamed ceilings, two oak bedside tables, chest of drawers and hanging space. A hand basin under the window looks down across the Victorian green house to the vegetable garden.. The little kitchen overlooks the central courtyard and has a gas hob, with electric oven and grill, a microwave and small fridge. A small tiled bathroom has a bath (with shower over), a hand basin and WC. The Old Dairy The old dairy has been renovated and boasts a fabulous sauna to seat 8 people, a shower, and a utility area with washer/dryer in one area. There is also some exercise equipment including stepping machine, treadmill and rowing machine. If exercise doesn`t excite you then you can relax on one of the 2 sofas and enjoy listening to music or watching TV. The state of the art sauna and gym is shared with those renting the barn and also the Owners. Leigh Barn: An 18th Century Tithe Barn converted to the highest standard offering luxury accommodation for 12 people (13 using sofa bed) in three double ensuite rooms, 1 family room accomodating 4 people in 2 doubles along with an ensuite, and one twin ensuite. The style is open and airy French chic with personal touches throughout. The large paddock offers an extensive outdoor living and dining space with a BBQ and Hartmann seating. The sauna, gym and games room is a few steps from the kitchen door and also has surround sound, Wii and plasma TV available. Leigh Barn is set in 4.5 acres in the charming town of Bradford on Avon with its many restaurants, pubs and shops. It is one stop by train to Bath Spa. More

We really enjoyed our three nights in these characterful properties: thick stone walls, exposed wooden beams, old fireplaces, steps, stairs, crannies, low doors, evidence of previous uses. For us they are in the perfect location surrounded by countryside but with a pavement all the way into town so we enjoyed the benefits of both town and country. Our three generation party comprised seven adults and six children. The children had a great time exploring the house and grounds and we all had a great day out on the train to Bath. The owners left comprehensive guides to everything in the house: something that is too often neglected in other properties. The owners met us made sure we knew where everything was and then left us in peace with an invitation to contact them if we needed any help. Perfect. Although there were only thirteen of us (some of our party couldn’t make it) the two properties could comfortably accommodate at least four more. Loved it and recommend it for a quiet stay away from the hustle and bustle of life.

Bath Holiday Rentals and the owners of Leigh House have been absolutely brilliant during the covid period of cancelling and rearranging. When we finally met as a group of 11 friends, we had a wonderful stay. Leigh House is beautiful, well appointed and well equipped. Highly recommend for a stay in Bradford on Avon and to visit Bath and the local area.

We rented the barn and bake house for my friends hen do and had the best time. The house is beautiful... so nicely done, every bedroom is lovely and the big open living space works perfectly for big groups. There were home baked brownies left out for us when we arrived and the owners were lovely and really helpful. Would definitely book again!

It was the perfect house in a terrific location for our family holiday. We had people flying in from Switzerland, Hong Kong and the US, and getting there from Heathrow was very easy (2.5hr drive). Plenty of space for all of us (12 adults and 3 children) and I loved how the house was laid out with an ensuite for pretty much every room all leading onto the living/dining communal area. Would 100% go back and stay again.

We stayed here as a group of 18 for my friend's hen do. We couldn't have asked for anything more perfect. From the immaculately decorated bedrooms (that slept 18 very comfortably)and fabulous huge communal area to the beautiful courtyard and garden we loved our stay here and didn't want to leave! To top it all off we were greeted with a very yummy carrot cake made by Sue the owner! It is very close to Bath and even closer to Bradford On Avon which is a lovely place. I would definitely recommend this property and hope to come back with a group of friends some time soon.

Can't recommend Leigh House and Sue enough! Beautiful house, with amazing character and every imaginable detail thought of. It was the perfect setting for my daughter's hen do, rooms and bathrooms in abundance as well as a large and beautifully appointed living area, where we held an amazing afternoon tea and fabulous evening with the 1920s as our theme! The addition of a large gym/games room and sauna just made the weekend even more fun. I should certainly like to visit again, maybe for a family gathering next time.

Eight of us enjoyed a four night stay in the sumptuous accommodation afforded by the Barn and all left feeling privileged to have stayed there. The rooms are spacious and well equipped and that goes for kitchen, bedrooms and living room. Sue was the perfect hostess, friendly, unobtrusive but expert at knowing when to appear. Add to all this the beautiful surroundings and all that there is to see within a few miles and you are close to perfection. Oh, and the Games Room is good for letting old guys live out their fantasies!

We stayed in the barn which was amazing. We felt very much at home. There was everything we needed for a great weekend. Lemon Drizzle cake on arrival was lovely. The beds so comfy. So many lovely ornaments, knick knacks and pictures to look at and they all added to making the place look so stylish. This is the best self catering we have stayed in. It was for a 40th birthday meet up so we paid more then we usually would for self catering but well worth every penny. Was just a shame we only had three days as I could have happily spent a fortnight there. Our greyhound Thin Lizzie loved it as we could walk her around the big field. I can 100% recommend this house for groups. It was spotless. We were all very impressed.
