Nestled in the foothills of Cader Idris, in the spectacular Dysynni Valley, rests the beautiful Llanfihangel-y-Pennant. This rural hamlet is steeped in Welsh history and culture including the ancient St Michael's Church, Castell y Bere, and Mary Jones Memorial. Old Tyn-y-Fach is an 18th century, Grade II listed cottage. Located in a quiet on through road, nestled by a shallow stream with spectacular mountain and valley views, it provides the perfect escape from busy life with picturesque walks and mountain bike tracks from the doorstep. Tyn-y-Fach can be booked for full weeks (Sat-Sat) all year round and for short breaks of between 2 and 6 nights from Sept to June (excluding school holidays) for £149 per night. For a short break bookings please send a booking request.

Other attractions include Fishing 5 miles away at Tal-y-Llyn lake, Pony Trekking 15 miles away at Bwlchgwyn Farm, Aberdovey Golf Club 12 miles away, St Michaels Church is only half a mile away, Castell-y-Bere is an ancient castle within a mile of the cottage, Talyllyn Steam Railway is only 3 miles away, and King Arthurs Labyrinth is only 10 miles away.

Due to the rural location a car is strongly advised. Most routes to Tyn-y-Fach from the Midlands and East will bring you along the M54 and A5 before you head onto the A458, A470, and A487. For the final stage of the journey the B4405 takes you to Abergynolwyn from where you turn onto LLanegryn Street by the Railway Inn pub for the final two miles across to Tyn-y-Fach. The Cross Foxes Inn at the junction between the A470 and A487 is a nice family friendly stop off for food on your way in or out which is about 15 minutes from Tyn-y-Fach.
