Cabin
Caban y Saer (Carpenter's Cabin) is just for two people and is set overlooking the river Hafesb in the village of Llanfor. It is contemporary in design and furnished with your relaxation and enjoyment in mind whether you intend to stay for a few days or a week or two. The cabin has all mod cons to make your life easy and enjoyable whilst staying with us on a self-catering basis. The market town of Bala is just one mile down the footpath.

Stayed here for a couple of nights with my partner, what a lovely place to stay just on the outskirts of Bala (20 minute walk away). Accommodation was nice and comfy and very peaceful. Nice to sit on the decking in the evening and listen to the river running past. All mod cons, tv plus WiFi. Highly recommended.

Cosy Country retreat
Me and my partner recently visited and stayed for 2 nights (although we really wish we had stayed longer!!)
The place was so clean and cosy, the heating was turned on and the space is modern but still quirky. We loved the decor and the bed was honestly the most comfortable we've ever slept on.
We had privacy throughout our stay, and it was close enough to Bala for us to walk (we bought torches to walk back in the dark).
I'm local to the area, but moved away a couple of years ago. It was the first time me and my partner had gone away as a couple, and his first time visiting my neck of the woods so it was really important to me that we had a lovely time - and it exceeded our expectations & we already want to come back in Summer.
Thank you to Mel & Mick

Great Stay
Communication with Mel was very good during the booking process and just prior to arrival. The accommodation in the cabin is great, comfortable and relaxing, with everything one could possibly need provided. The location is very quiet and the bed really comfortable and we slept very well. An ideal base from which to explore the wonderful landscapes. The hosts Mel and Mick were very helpful with directions and recommendations.
I was lucky enough to have a one to one encaustic art workshop with Mel who runs them from her well equipped studio. It was great to be able to walk from the cabin to the workshop leaving my husband relaxing in the accommodation. Mel was a great teacher I learnt loads and really enjoyed it. So any budding artist wanting to learn a different technique this is a great way to combine it with a holiday in the area.
Thoiughly recommend the Cabin.

Absolutely Fabulous!
This little cottage for 2 on the edge of Bala in Wales is just superb. Mel and Mick are lovely and very welcoming. They have put a lot of thought and effort into their holiday cottage, ensuring it has everything you could need for a perfect getaway. It's finished to a very high standard and sits nestled away in a beautifully peaceful area only just 1 mile away from the beautiful town of Bala.
I stayed here with my mum for 3 Nights and it was one of the most relaxing places we've stayed at. The cottage comes with its own private parking space which leads up onto a lovely decking area with patio set & BBQ over looking a lovely little stream. It was perfect sitting out for breakfast each morning and again in the evening with a BBQ.
The cottage is very spacious with a lovely open plan lounge, kitchen, diner. It has a cooker, hob, microwave, dishwasher and all the utensils you could need for self catering. The bedroom is lovely too with a fabulously comfy double bed and a wonderful ensuite shower/toilet.
Mel and Mick very kindly offered us the use of their hot tub which was fabulous and very much welcomed after a day exploring zip world and doing bounce below and Zip World Caverns.
We also visited Portmeirion, an Italian inspired town which was just beautiful and I'd highly recommend for a day out.
We were very sad to be coming home after our stay as we enjoyed it so much.
We'd definitely highly recommend it and will certainly be looking to book in next year's holiday here.
PS: We had a meal out at the little Cafe/Bistro in Bala and can highly recommend that too. The food was absolutely delicious x

Lovely. Just right
Stayed here for my partners birthday get away. The cabin was just perfect. Everything you need home from home. The lady came to greet us and gave us the basics of the cabin and surroundings all we needed. The cabin was lovely and clean with everything you’d need to cook with. The hot tub was in the owners garden but at the end of the cabin and we had the use of it as often as required. It was lovely and such a treat. We felt very private and not overlooked (especially as the owners had gone away for a couple of days)
I would totally recommend this cabin and would love to return
