Crowcombe, Somerset, England
Flora's Barn sits in the grounds of Town End Farm on the edge of the ancient village of Crowcombe in the heart of the Quantock Hills, the first area in Britain designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There is a footpath directly opposite the entrance which leads right up to the top of the hills and across the surrounding countryside which has changed very little from the days when it inspired the romantic poets Coleridge and Wordsworth.

Just a few minutes walk will take you into the heart of the village, where you will find the village church, shop with Post Office and also the excellent pub, The Carew Arms.

Flora's Barn is perfect for the traditional summer holiday or for short breaks any time of the year.

We keep a small selection of outdoor play equipment for young children. Transportation for the setting down...

This was such a great find and we can't recommend it highly enough. We were looking for somewhere to relax and unwind for a week and Flora's Barn was ideal. We arrived in bright evening sunshine which showed off the huge living area to great effect. The enclosed garden was perfect for our elderly dog who was also very chilled...

I love this place! We stayed here last November - and are happily returning this year. Flora's Barn is a wonderfully comfortable, relaxing and superbly-equipped destination for couples or families. It is set in the charming village of Crowcombe (which has a fabulous pub), in easy access of the M5 and surrounding countryside and amenities. If walking is your thing,...

We were more than happy with our stay at Flora barn, it's spacious, very well equipped, and has amazing views looking out to the Quantock Hills and farm land surrounding this delightful barn. The owners were very accommodating, home baked scones, fresh eggs, milk and flowers on arrival to settle us in. The garden was great for our dog Tilly,...

About the neighborhood
The Quantock Hills attract walkers, cyclists, horse riders and people simply admiring nature. Although one of the smallest range of hills in the country, the Quantocks are considered to be one of the finest. There are frequent sightings of red deer and wild ponies grazing amongst the heather and bracken, and the sight and sound of buzzards as they circle on the thermals overhead. There are many delightful places to picnic and enjoy the views. Come simply to enjoy the peace, the heather-clad moors, deep valleys, and sparkling brooks. You can pop in to one of the pretty villages dotted around the hills, where you can take a break for a warming pub roast or a scrumptious afternoon cream tea.

According to one of the Mountain Bike magazines, The Quantocks Hills are the mountain biking area of...
