'Aphelion: a two bedroom holiday apartment' is a 65 sq.m. apartment, fully renovated in spring 2017. It was designed and furnished to accomodate families or groups of friends during their holidays in Sithonia, Halkidiki. It comprises of two bedrooms, one main and one en-suite bathroom, living room and a fully equipped kitchen. One very large balcony facing northeast and another one facing southeast, as well as the full window balcony doors in every room provide plenty of sunlight and ventilation during the hot greek summer. For the less used to hot climates, the apartment is also air conditioned. The space was decorated with a minimalistic aproach, to be fresh, light and breezy, with many handmade furniture (tables, beds, sinktables, closets, kitchens, desks) and colours that mix with the greek sun in an interesting way.

About the neighborhood
Agios Nikolaos is a small picturesque town with nice walks on stone-built roads all over it. The town's square is vibrant, with tavernas, shops and lots of people enjoying their night out. You will not find any chain stores though, no gourmet cuisine either. There are super markets, pharmacies even a hospital. It is ideal to explore the whole Sithonia and its magnificent beaches, Lagonisi, Vourvourou, Kavourotripes and many more. Trani Ammouda is the closest beach to Aphelion. Its name means big sandy place because that's what it is. An 1km length sandy beach with crystal clear water. Nikiti (9km) is Sithonia's biggest and most touristic town. The hike (5km) to Nikiti through Gouvali, the hill between the two towns, is amazing.
Even though a bus service (KTEL Halkidikis) runs three times a day through Agios NIkolaos, it is really inconvenient to be used for getting around Sithonia. It is advised that it is only used for transportation to and from Thessaloniki. Agios Nikolaos's bus station is just accross the street from Aphelion. The closest beach, Trani Ammouda is within walking distance from Aphelion (30min, about 2km) but a bit of an uphill on your way back here. It is therefore recommended that if you want to enjoy a full Sithonia experience you either rent or bring your own car.
How to get there
Airport: Thessaloniki: 55.9 mi
Railway: Thessaloniki Train STation: 68.4 mi
Ferry: Ormos Panagias: 3.1 mi
The easiest way to get here is by car which is very straight forward since the property is on the entrance of the town. If you are driving here from Thessaloniki, just follow the signs to Halkidiki, Sithonia, and finally Agios Nikolaos. I fyou are travelling by bus, you need to go to Halkidiki Bus Station which is outside the eastern part of Thessaloniki, and get a ticket to Agios Nikolaos. There's a bus service from KTEL Halkdikis 3 times per day, to and from Thessaloniki. Agios Nikolaos bus station is just across the street from Aphelion.
