We all ate together in apartment 1. Beautiful views front and back, we even saw deer. One evening we used the grills for raclette which went...

Stayed in Lower Chalet end Dec/beginning Jan, for 1 week. 2 families of 4. Absolutely perfect. 5 mins to town or the lift (free parking), or take the free ski shuttle bus which stops right outside the chalet. Chalet is easy to find; plenty of parking on the driveway. Chalet is warm, comfortable and well equipped. Steve & Eleanor could...

As others have said or intimated, if you are looking for high end luxury, this chalet is not for you, but if, like us, you want clean, warm, shabby chic accommodation with very helpful owners and, if like us, your idea of après ski is playing board games and sleeping, this is a real find. We booked all three flats...

About the neighborhood
The Grand Massif is a huge and relatively undiscovered ski area just one hour from Geneva near the Swiss border. It has over 270km of pistes, including a 15km run from Flaine back to Samoens, endless off piste and a very good snow record.

Samoens is a beautiful, listed French alpine town situated at the edge of the Grand Massif ski area, and is linked directly via a fast new Gondola built in 2002. Though retaining the feel of rural France, Samoens is also a great place for Apres ski. It has a quaint main square surrounded by bars and restaurants open well into the small hours. The town puts on weekly entertainment such as live music, fire works, wine tasting, markets, story-telling, ice-hockey matches ....

Views are spectacular over the Mont Blanc r... more

Samoens is just an hour from Geneva. Many of the airlines operate cheap flights here from the UK and the rest of Europe. You can also get the train from London with just one change in Paris - this takes approximately 6hours. A hire car can be easily booked prior to your arrival. From Geneva simply follow the signs to Chamonix and Mont Blanc until you come by the signs for Samoens. The chalet is located on the valley floor just outside Samoens centre so it is not necessary to bring snow chains. We have plenty of parking.

From any of the Northern ports - i.e: Calais, Dieppe, Cherbourg etc, it is a 7 - 9 hour drive to the chalet.
