Fantastic holiday getaway
Very friendly and helpful host, spacious bedrooms and living area and the kids loved having the horses just outside the door, a perfect location for the sandy Bournemouth beaches and also the new forest isn't far away. Our 2nd visit and I'm sure won't be the last!

Lovely relaxing stay
Were are a family of 5; parents, 2 teens and a preteen. Finding places to stay to please everyone and be on budget can be tricky! this was perfect. Some of the other reviews have said the decor is dated but we found it really comfy and cozy. Our eldest had a room to himself upstairs which he greatly appreciated, the other 2 shared a really spacious room downstairs, our room was next to them. The kitchen was big enough for all of us and the living room had plenty of space for all of those legs to spread out in! All of the children very much enjoyed the stables right outside and the poor horses had to endure being said good morning and goodnight to every single day! There is a lovely short walk by the river and we did a spot of minnow fishing which was fun.there is a longer walk up to a small Tesco. the first time we did this a deer jumped across our path which was very exciting! Everything else is a drive away so you will need a car. There is an Aldi and a larger Tesco about 10 mins drive. We would recommend going to either Mudeford or Sandbanks for days out on the beach. We weren't so keen on Bournemouth itself, bit too big. We also fulfilled my daughter's long time dream of going to Monkey World which is well worth a drive, about an hour's drive. There was a bit of traffic so maybe out of season it would be quicker. All in all a really lovely holiday rental!

There is no more too say, lovely place. Would come again. But then again we love Dorset. We would recommend this property to our family. And friends, no problems.

Charming farm holiday let
We stayed for a week on the ground floor of The Workshops. The front patio doors look out onto the farmyard, which is a hard concrete surface. We saw a lot of activity from the livery stables. The accommodation appears to be converted buildings that are quite old as there are a few wooden beams. There were a few spiders and webs as one might expect. Spacious property. The ensuite shower is a bit cramped, but we managed. There is a bath in the main bathroom. Suitable for a family with 2 children. Really comfortable beds. There is a half hour circular walk around the farm along the river and past the church. There are sheep, fruit and vegetables. We sat outside the front patio doors which catch the afternoon sun. We would definitely stay again if in the area.

good family base
Nice location on the farm. Central to many places. Accommodation was a little dated but this was ok as we had small children running from barn to barn.

Fantastic stay at Barn 1
We had a lovely holiday at Barn 1 and would definitely recommend it for families. The residents are all very friendly- my children even got to help feed the sheep, which was a highlight of their holiday. Beautiful surroundings, albeit a bit noisy at times through the day due to the airport, but never before 6-30am and not too late into the evening either- we actually enjoyed watching the planes taking off overhead. The barn itself is very spacious- I loved the house and could quite happily live there! The shower isn't great, due to low water pressure, but this is only a minor niggle and didn't worry us too much. Very tempted to come back next year.

Spacious, quiet and comfortable!
Certainly the largest 'cottage' we've stayed in - loads of space! Slightly tired decor but clean with all the usual mod cons. Nearby BoMo airport not a major inconvenience wrt noise. Slightly quirky location - on a working farm 'in' Bournemouth, but feels pleasingly isolated. Local roads VERY clogged at rush hour - plan round these. Excellent food at the Curlew Inn at top of Church Lane. Great base for exploring - Beaulieu, New Forest, Poole Harbour, Wimborne, Lulworth Cove and Corfe Castle all recommended.

For the money - this was great
For a family looking for a UK holiday, I would certainly recommend this cottage. Its basic but functional. Some of the utilities are ageing but are all in good order and the cottage is kept clean and smart. Its roomy and conducive for a large group to live together without getting in each others way. The bedrooms are downstairs and living area and kitchen is upstairs which makes for an interesting adjustment at first and it actually works well. If you are a fan of both country and city then this location could not get better - we loved being a 15 minute drive to the beach without the congestion of living in a city. The living room has a wood-burning stove which adds a nice touch when staying at any other time than summer. The stables next to barn 1 and 2 help to give a rural feel and the day-to-day working of a stable enable those from a city a chance to hear and see something different right outside your front door. The kids loved this and the horses were friendly. In summary, for the price, we highly recommend this accommodation. We'll be booking a return trip next year some time.

Lovely Cottage, Fantastic location
We had a wonderful stay in Barn 1. The location is excellent, just a short distance away from Bournemouth,Poole and the New Forest. The Cottage is on a working fruit farm near the river Stour. The children loved seeing the horses every day. The cottage itself had very spacious rooms and all the equipment you would need for a self catering holiday. We would definitely stay here again.
