About the neighborhood
We are located halfway between Brantôme, (the Venice of the Perigorde) and Ribérac, a typical French market town with it's mix of cafés, restaurants and a busy market. Bourdeilles with it's chateau and castle sitting above the river is just 15 mins. away and the river can be explored by hired canoe. Sightly further afield are the lakes at Jemaye, the monolithic church at Aubeterre, or the caves at Villars amongst many other attractions. Wherever you drive the quite roads and peaceful scenery are just a delight. Small family run restaurants can be found in abundance in the towns and villages throughout the area, and a good lunch with wine for less than €13 can while away a good 2 hours on a sunny afternoon
Getting around
The roads are very quiet and usually well maintained. There are a number of signed walks around and we can loan you maps to help explore.
