Condo/Apartment
Sumptuous and spacious holiday home for 2 or 4 up to 6 adults + 2 children. In a famous winemaker's Renaissance house (built in 1613), in the heart of Riquewihr. We named it Marco Polo to the memory of the great Italian traveler who founded the relations between Asia and Europe in the Middle Ages. The beautiful Renaissance painted ceiling (listed as National Heritage) which adorns the living room offers many exotic and colorful designs - flowers and birds - evidence that Alsace was well on the path of merchants and artists who were dealing and traveling between Italy and Flanders in the Middle Ages. The place is definitely unique and living there is a genuine privilege for history lovers. Due to the many pieces of artwork in the apartment, some displayed on the floor, the place is not suit...Sumptuous and spacious holiday home for 2 or 4 up to 6 adults + 2 children. About the neighborhood
Alsace is in eastern France on the Rhine River border with Germany. The Lonely Planet guides voted Alsace first among the top ten regions to be discovered in the world. Alsace is unquestionably spectacularly beautiful. A very special combination of history, culture, scenery, and especially food and wine makes it one of the most delightful places to visit in all of Europe Riquewihr is certainly the prettiest village in Alsace and certainly the jewel in the crown of the Alsace wine route - famous for the great Alsace wines produced here - the village looks today exactly as it did in the 16th Century. Riquewihr is a wonderful and romantic little medieval city hidden between the Vosges mountains and some of the most famous vineyards in Alsace.
Getting around
If you fly in for a longer stay we recommend you rent a car. For a short stay you may arrive by train in Colmar and from there take a bus or a taxi. We can arrange a taxi with an English speaking driver. Riquewihr is a very practical base to visit all Alsace, the Vosges mountains, the Black Forest in Germany and nearby Switzerland. We also can arrange electro-bikes for rent.
