Overview
Reggello, Tuscany
La Villetta is ideal for people wanting a place in a beautiful country setting with lots to enjoy locally, and also easy access to the great cities of Florence, Siena and beyond. The house and its extensive garden is in a small, quiet hamlet in a superb scenic setting looking up into the Pratomagno Mountains. It is several hundred years old and has been fully renovated, retaining traditional Tuscan features such as terracotta floors and chestnut beams. There are shops, restaurants and other amenities within easy waliking distance.

La Villetta consists of two completely self-contained apartments each sleeping 4 comfortably with room for a fifth person, so either apartment is ideal for couples or small family groups. The Lower Apartment (like the upper one) has a living/dining room with kitchen area, which is also useable as a bedroom as...

5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 12, 2013 for a stay in August 2013

We really enjoyed our stay. Two adults, and our 4 (turned 5 right after we came home) year old daughter - and there was something for us all. The small market in Reggello, Reggello by itself, food, wine, the small Pizza takeout in Reggello... I could go on and on, and I've only mentioned Reggello. Had a really nice trip to Cortona, and it's a town really worth visiting. I think I'm going to stop now, before I get started on the other things we did and visited. Though, do remeber to use some mosquito reppelent - those Tuscan mosquitos might be small, but they sure are aggressive. My girlfriend and I both agree that we will be comming back.

The rural community of Cascia lies in the foothills of the beautiful Pratomagno mountains, on which the light is constantly changing - tree clad high up, descending into olive groves and vineyards, punctuated by old buildings and lines of cypress trees. The area is renowned for the freshness of the air, and the local olive oil is held to be amongst the finest in the world. People interested in walking, flora, fauna or art and architecture will find the location ideal. Cascia is famous for the Masaccio painting and superb Romanesque church.
