The gite is very well equipped, oven, microwave, washing machine etc, English TV channels, good WIFI access (free) and most important, the beds are very comfortable. There were some nice welcoming goodies when we arrived, bread, wine, pate and eggs. Outside the back door there is a Patio area that looks across the grounds to the resident chickens, goats, rabbits...

Management response:

Thank you for the lovely comments and the presents! Please come again, you left the gite spotless, and the children are a delight to have around. We (and Pecky and the rabbits) will miss you!

Lovely gite with everything you could ask for. Angela and John were wonderful hosts - nothing was too much trouble. The area was a bit quiet but I think that was just the time of year. Would visit again. 😊

Management response:

Thank you for the lovely comments! We do live in a small, quiet village in the countryside, but we are only 10 mins drive from 2 towns with supermarkets, restaurants, swimming pools, cinemas, acrobranche, kayaking and fishing. Yes, please, come again, we would love to see you

What a super gite !!! The gite had everything that we needed. The welcome that we received was extremely warm and welcoming. Cannot fault anything. John and and Angela were super hosts and granddaughter Selina was an absolute delight and a whizz at sorting out my iPad issues !. We will definitely stay there again as we love the area...

Management response:

What a great review! Thank you for the lovely comments, and yes, the croissants from the village shop are the best ever! Thank you for leaving the gite spotless and do come back, we'll look forward to seeing you again and hearing about the house-hunting.

About the neighborhood
Our region of France is usually a few degrees warmer than the South of England, and early Spring and late Autumn are often very mild, making it ideal for off-season breaks. We live in the countryside on the edge of Carelles village. About 200 yards away is the village itself and the Bar/Restaurant that also acts as the village shop, where you can buy essentials and locally made bread, or have a mid-day meal or just a hot chocolate or a Pastis. Farming, cider and Calvados make up the way of life around here, and as a result, there are lots of restaurants in the area serving good food (with wine and cider usually included in the price) for around 12 eurosThe slow pace of life is what makes a holiday here so relaxing. Walking and cycling is easy because the back roads are so quiet, and fishing... more
