Chateau Bavolier sits in 6 acres of grounds which are yours to explore. In this area is a swing set/ slide for the children.
We are located on the out skirts of a small village which has all amenities including a small supermarket. Just 3 minutes’ drive we arrive at the Lac de Moulin Blanc. This is a great man made lake with sandy beaches where you can enjoy swimming, horse riding, bike riding, waterboarding and much more. A family run restaurant is located here with outside terraces with views over the lake. Many fun and relaxing days can be had here.
Blaye our nearest town is just 10 mins drive full of historical interest. St. Emilion, Medoc and Bordeaux all are approximately 35 mins drive. We are just perfectly placed for everything you would want to do and see.
Fabulous Hospitality, Luxurious Accommodation, A Very Special Place to Stay
Upon our arrival, Ann our host, opened the doors to the Chateau and welcomed us into a world that left all the stresses and strains of everyday life behind! A soft musical score greeted us and gently erased our fatigue as we sat on the terrace with our wine and let our eyes take it all in. Ann has restored the Chateau beautifully with the decor of each room lovingly and sympathetically chosen together with beautiful handpicked antiquities. The garden is meticulously cared for and we awakened the next morning refreshed and ready for a leisurely and very generous breakfast which was served by Ann in the beautiful dining room in fine dining style. Over our 3 night stay and with a little help from our friend we explored Bordeaux taking in recommended restaurants, the Wine Expo, and enjoyed people watching in St. Emillion, managing to taste just a little of the fantastic wine the region has on offer. We spent two weeks in France in various locations. The hospitality we experienced at Chateau Bavolier outclassed all of our other chosen establishments. We will return as it is indeed a very special place to stay!

Like visting an old friend
We stayed at Chateau Bavolier in 2010 and since we enjoyed it so much and we would be close, decided to stay again. Once again Anne gave us a wonderful welcome, we truly felt like old friends even though we had only stayed one night. We were able to have dinner in the Chateau....delicious and very enjoyable. The room is so spacious and beautifully decorated that you feel like royalty and breakfast was as good as we remembered. We shall definitely repeat if we are in the area.

Excellent
Thanks Ann for a wonderful stay. We used Chateau Bavolier as a stopover for a couple of nights and it was perfect for us. Champagne on arrival with Ann and plenty of suggestions for places to eat/visit. The room was excellent and extremely large even with four of us in there. Massive garden with swings/slide for the kids to play on. Lovely breakfast! Thanks Ann, would recommend to anyone.

Exquisite country manor
The hostess, owner, Ann Roberts made our experience and stay the very best time. The historic estate is not the easiest to find on the first attempt, but Ann stated in the phone and gave driving directions since it was late evening and waited until we arrived. The suite is a fairy tale room with abundant space, antique furnishings and chandeliers. A sunken bath makes a perfect ending to each busy day. Breakfast was delightful including yogurt, fruit, beverages, and even scrambled eggs. Ann also took the time to sit outside in the veranda with us one evening and chatted up a storm. Her personal story combined with the rich history of the home is worth knowing. We highly recommend a restful, quiet sleep after a full day journey in the wine country.

Good feel and Atmosphere
A warm welcome on arrival with a cup of tea in the sunshine. We had a one night stop over on our way back to the UK. We had the smaller room and our bathroom had a bath, but no overhead shower, just a handheld which was not working when we were there as had recently been broken. Also no hot water in the morning.
Ann is a lovely lady and made us feel welcome, she looks after her guests well. The Chateau has a nice feel and good atmosphere. Breakfast was good. Nice place to stay.

A slice of French Paradise
We spent a 7 nights B&B at Chateau Bavolier and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Although this was our first visit we felt like old friends with the warmest of champagne greetings on arrival. The Master Suite , which housed us & our 2 daughters, was simply stunning and huge. Breakfasts were plentiful and served in another of the marvellous rooms. The property and grounds are wonderful examples of ancient France and Ann's restoration is an incredible feat. The nearby lake was fantastic for catching the sun or swimming and felt like a beach. The children's farm there was a big hit too. With Bordeaux, the Medoc and great beaches all a short drive we were never short of activities. We shall certainly be returning in the near future.

We are located on the out skirts of a small village, just a 2 minute drive from the Lac de Moulin Blanc. This is a great manmade lake with its sandy beach where you can enjoy a picnic, sunbath, and swim, go horse-riding, bike rentals and enjoy its restaurant with terrace overlooking the lake. Great place to take the kids or simply relax for the day.
