Great venue for large groups looking to relax
We’re a group of four families with lots of small children between us, and Batchcott Hall was the perfect venue for our annual get-together. The bedrooms were roomy (and fairly soundproof!). The lounge, kitchen and dining room provided some good-sized spaces for us to relax as a group, and the kids loved exploring the garden with its swings, tennis courts and trampoline (the treehouse is sadly currently out of order). Campbell went out of his way to make us welcome and to help with our logistics! The kitchen is well-equipped for cooking for large numbers. We enjoyed visiting nearby Carding Mill Valley, and lunch at The Pound was delicious.

Wonderful weekend
Fantastic place to relax and have fun with a group of friends. A beautiful old hall in a lovely location with views all round.Can thoroughly recommend the pizzas and prepared meals...all delicious! We enjoyed our sunny weekend at Batchcott and will be back! Thanks Campbell and Jess.

Beautiful stay!
We had the best stay! A family reunion and it was truly Special. The rooms were spacious and having lots of bathrooms to accommodate different family groups was perfect for us! Large dining area, kitchen space for hosting and also the pool table, trampoline and gardens were great for the children in our group. We had pizzas one night for an evening option for food and this was amazing - cooked fresh from the pizza oven was the perfect touch! Thank you so much for hosting and the customer service from message responses to greeting on arrival - quick and efficient. Thank you Campbell & Jess! Abi xx

Magical stay
As a group of 5 families, children aged 11-16, we’ve all had the best few days. We all watched the Sunrise, the full super moon appear from behind the trees (looked like E.T & Elliot would fly past haha) , and we all saw shooting stars - it truly has been a magical stay. Batchcroft is a hidden gem and a perfect home to chill out and just be together. Thank you Campbell and Jess, we’ve left with special forever memories ✨

Terrific stay
What a lovely place Batchcott Hall is. The house itself is huge. Bedrooms are comfortable, with quality beds and linen. Bathrooms are clean and well-finished. Downstairs there is a large dining room, lounge and a well-equipped kitchen with an Aga. Entertainment can be found everywhere, with a tennis court, croquet kit, trampoline and a small pool table indoors. Grounds and setting, with views across the fields to the distant hills. Relaxing and beautiful. In the last night we took the pizza oven option, which was great fun. Terrific!

Amazing food and welcome at Batchcott Hall
I recently celebrated my 40th with friends here, and it couldn’t have been better. From the flexibility around covid postponements, to arranging a guided walk over the long mynd, the management are extremely helpful and we received a very warm welcome. The setting is beautiful, the accomodation ample and comfortable, but without a doubt the highlight was the amazing food provided by the catering business that is run by the hosts. I would highly recommend indulging in having the catering done for you if you choose to visit Batchcott.

Amazing Christmas Family get together
I booked Batchcott over 2 years ago, with the plan to go in 2020, but covid unfortunately put a stop to it! Batchcott was well worth the wait! We were a group of 16 adults, 2 toddlers and a baby, and the house size was perfect for us. All but 1 bedroom has an ensuite and one has a jack and Jill. On arrive, Campbell met us and did a tour of the house, and Jess baked us brownies which was a lovely welcomed touch. We had opted for the catering that Campbell and Jess offer. We were not disappointed! I highly recommend the catering, in particular the 'fridge fills', breakfast and 3 course dinner. The fridge fills are perfect on the day of arrival, especially if people are arriving at different times, or arriving late. They leave the meal in the fridge for you and you simply heat it up when you need it! Breakfast was also fab and it was so nice to have this cooked for us rather than have all the hassle and mess for such a large group. The highlight of our weekend was the 3 course meal on our second night. Eating out with young children isn't easy, so to be able to put them to bed and then have a beautiful 3 course meal cooked by a private chef was a luxury! The food was outstanding, and Campbell & Jess arrived an hour before service to set up the dining room with candles, cutlery etc. They served up and took away each course, and then after left the kitchen spotless as if they had never even cooked in there! The value for money was also fantastic and it really felt like we were dining in a post restaurant! I couldn't fault this place and we all had a lovely time! We can't wait to return and will be booking up for next year!

3 course meal was a real highlight
Great place to stay for a large group of friends. The highlight was the 3 course meal on the Saturday night. Amazing quality food served for us in the comfort of the house. Jess and Campbell were great hosts and nothing was too much trouble. We’ll definitely be back!

Stunning property, perfect for large groups!
We had the most wonderful time at Batchcott Hall! The property is absolutely stunning, from the large kitchen/dining room and bedrooms to the beautiful garden & the views are breathtaking! We certainly made the most of garden, using the tennis courts and outdoor seating, so we could enjoy the views & eat the pizza straight from the pizza oven (I would highly recommend hiring the pizza oven for the weekend). Waller Catering was incredible, we opted for the 3-course meal on the Saturday night and this went down a storm with all the guests! Campbell & Jess were so helpful and answered all our questions prior to our arrival and were wonderful hosts throughout the weekend. I would highly recommend Batchcott Hall to anyone & hope to arrange another stay soon!

Picklescott is a small country village offering many country walks. Church Stretton is the nearest market town offering a local market once a week and many small independent shops plus a small supermarket adn chemist. There is a local Golf Club for any gold enthusiasts and also a Gliding and Cycle shop offering repairs and hire. Bikes can be delivered to the house by arrangement, as there is plenty of excellent cycling routes nearby. There are also many small coffee shops and restaurants available, plus a local leisure centre.

How to get there
Birmingham is the nearest airport, and Shrewsbury is the nearest main line station. Directions by car: Turn right off the A49 at Dorrington (sign posted for Picklescott) and follow road until you reach the village of Picklescott. Once in centre of Picklescott village take the first left (just after a very small bridge) and follow this road for nearly a mile (passing two white cottages on your right) and our driveway is the next entrance on your left. Drive down the tree lined drive passing a lake and Keepers Cottage on your left and you arrive at Batchcott Hall. Please park through the gates next to the lawn.
