About the neighborhood
L,isle Jourdain is a peaceful town but does boast 6 restaurants, a square, a market every tues and a fair every 20th month. I t has an Intermarche, tourist information office , bars and cafes. There is a water-sports centre, open air swimming pool, various live music frequently, bungee jumping from the viaduct on a Saturday, fantastic walks and within short distance Futuroscope science park, Valles des Singes Primate park, Crocodile Park, Oradour sur Glane and many more attractions.
A car is most definitely recommended if you wish to check out the local area .
How to get there
Airport: Poitiers airport: 37.3 mi
From Calais it is around 6:30 hrs car journey including toll roads. The journey mainly consists of main roads and we suggest you head for Le Mans instead of going on the Paris outskirts.
Poitiers or Limoges airports are both around 60km from the house. I would suggest hiring a car to allow freedom to explore the area.
