Food is typically French, Italian and Chinese food. There are no written house rules - we think that all of our guests are considerate enough to look after our property, as, the french say, 'bon père de famille'. Wonderful relaxing break
We enjoyed a relaxing break in a part of France we had not explored before but we were pleasantly surprised The breakfast provided by our hosts each morning was typically French but set us up for the day warm fresh bread every morning was delicious. When out we saw markers which denotes one of the routes of Pilgrimage of St James to Santiago de Compostela parts of which we are keen to explore and have therefore booked again for next year.

A wonderful getaway!
We had a great stay. The location is perfect, within a few minutes of the local towns but very peaceful. The owners were very friendly and helpful, but equally, very respectful of our privacy. Nothing was too much trouble. The rooms are very clean, comfortable and large in comparison to others I have stayed in. I felt at home immediately. I can highly recommend this place. So much that we have booked in again next year!

Superb place to stay
Great room with a touch a hotel luxury about it. Very spacious with a good comfy bed. Large bathroom with good powerful shower and a basket of fluffy towels. Excellent view of the vineyards from the doors of the room and the patio area affords a panoramic view of the area. Excellent breakfast provided and the hosts couldn't have been more helpful and attentive. Free wifi and the use of a laptop if you need it. A real gem in a superb area and I'll definitely return when in the region. Thanks to both Debbie and Phil for a fantastic stay.

Comfortable and tranquil ...
The room was clean, comfortable and relaxing with good all round views of the vineyards and surrounding county side. Great en-suite with excellent shower. English hosts were warm and friendly, nothing was too much trouble, breakfast on the patio area. Booked B & B as attended a wedding nearby, so one night only, would have stayed longer! There was a holiday cottage on site with swimming pool, great for families. Good value for money, would go back there.

About the neighborhood
Gorce is just outside the village of Massugas, in the commune of Pellegrue, a bastide town built on a Roman settlement. Vineyards are all around, and the bastide towns of the Lot et Garonne region are only minutes away. We are within 10 minutes of two well-know wedding venue chateaux which makes us an ideal base for wedding guests and we can direct you to several local hairdressers and beauticians for last-minute pampering. Located a few miles south of the Dordogne river, a wide range of leisure activities is within easy reach. Pellegrue and Gensac are only a 5 minute drive away, ensuring that supermarkets, bakeries, bars and restaurants are easily accessible. Thriving local markets are weekly at Duras, Sainte-Foy-la-Grande and Monsegur, with fruit and vegetables, local meats, saucisse, and shellfish piled high. A very special feature of the region is the night markets held in several local towns in July and August, where foods such as roasts, huge paellas, moules frites and local wines take the place of normal market stall produce, and the whole town gathers to eat informally, often accompanied by local musicians. Facilities for the more energetic include cycling (cycles can be hired and delivered to you); tennis courts at Gensac (5km); golf at les Vigiers (21km); horse riding at Savignac de Duras (11km); canoing at Pessac sur Dordogne (7km) Massugas has a fishing lake with some competions during spring/summer. There are also many leisure parks within an hour or two, including waterparks, and activities such as rafting, accrobranching, karting and climbing.
