This property in an ancient stone house is in the historic centre of Pigna, one of the several medieval villages of the Nervia valley. It has sun all the year being south faced. The apartment has beautiful vaulted ceilings, a panoramic balcony where you can have lunch/dinner, sunbathe or just enjoy the view of the beautiful nature of the Nervia valley and a terrace on the other side of the house. Beside the balcony there is the kitchen with a dinner table and next a small bathroom with shower. The living room has a sofa bed, an armchair, a fireplace and a flat TV where you can watch foreign channels. Upstairs under a high wooden ceilings there is a double bedroom, a small bedroom with bunk beds both and a bathroom with shower. The apartment has all modern appliances, kitchen utensils and centralized heating. Towels and bed sheets are provided as well as a router for free internet access. The historic centre of Pigna is only accessible on foot, but parking is just 150 meters away. Shops and restaurants are a 2-3 minutes walk from the apartment. Pigna is a a medieval village 20 minutes from the sea and not far away from the French Riviera and Montecarlo. Nice airport is about one hour by car, while Genoa airport is about one and half hour away. Pigna can boast the only thermal bath in Liguria. The area is part of a regional park with other medieval villages and a pristine nature where you can practice several sports, such as canyoning, mountain biking, mountaineering, horse riding and walking. In Pigna and in the neighbouring villages you can find excellent restaurants where you can taste the local cuisine. Pigna is listed among the most beautiful villages in Italy by the Italian Private Tourism Association "Touring club". Lovely apartment
We have stayed in this apartment 3 times. I love the roof terrace. The apartment is always clean and everything you need for your holiday. Pigna is a lovely village with some nice restaurants. Just be aware it is very hilly with lots of steps to get to the apartment. A lovely holiday had as usual.

About the neighborhood
The area is the most western part of Liguria, bordering with France. The valley of the Nervia river, where Pigna is located, can offer beautiful sceneries, picturesque medieval villages and genuine Ligurian food at reasonable prices. The village has 3 stores, 3 restaurants, 4 coffee bars, a pizzeria, a music bar open from 5pm to 2am, a doctor's surgery, pharmacy, bank, post office..... Pigna can offer also a tennis court, a football field, two childrens play areas and a 4 star spa hotel where visitors can use the outdoor swimming ot try different type of treatments. Otherwise, in Isolabona 10 minutes from Pigna, the campsite has a big pool where it is possible to go for the day. There are plenty of rock pools around the village suitable for bathing. A lot of activities are on offer. It is possible to hire Quad bikes and explore the mountains with a guide, to engage in horse riding in the hills behind Pigna and to do canyoning in Rochetta a 20 minutes drive from Pigna. The area is a designated area of natural beauty and has many marked walking routes.

How to get there
If you hire a car at Nice airport you need to drive towards Genova Italy (Genes in French) on the motorway. After around 25 minutes you arrrive in Italy. You need to exit the motorway at Ventimiglia, just after the border. At the end of Ventimiglia you have to turn left (you will see the indication for Pigna) and a 20 minutes drive will take you to Pigna.
