We stayed for a week with our eighteen year old son at the end of July. MoonGrove is delightful in many ways, particularly the magical garden and wonderful roof terrace. On arrival the fridge didn't work but this was sorted out by the owner very quickly although it didn't really ever get as cold as it should do and every time we opened it the freezer door fell open which was very annoying. The kitchen was disappointing as there is a lack of storage and work space so we didn't cook anything substantial which was a shame as I love cooking. However, we did make use of the barbecue on the beautiful terrace. Simply stunning to be sitting looking out over an olive grove with views of the mountains. The garden is a real feature; different areas with tables and chairs, beautiful bougainvillea, private. I really enjoyed the garden. The roof terrace is fabulous. Magnificent views of the sea and mountains and we loved the loungers from which we really enjoyed star gazing.
Our son stayed in the little house next door to the main villa which is a great feature.
Only other gripe was the lack of shower curtains which would have saved extra work.
The location of MoonGrove was ideal for us. A short stroll down an old donkey track through olive groves to lovely Pantazi beach which has a good taverna and about a 30 minute walk by the sea to Agios Nikolaos, a lovely characterful, charming fishing village with tavernas, bars, shops etc. The first night we were a bit concerned walking back up the donkey track in the dark as it is not lit but with a torch is no problem.
Air con in the main bedroom and bedroom in the little house but don't remember seeing air con in the twin room.
Very useful having a washing machine and wi-fi.
Strongly recommend a car.
