Words cannot begin to express our experience in Riscle. There were 4 of us ( 2 couples) renting this house. Our plan when we began our search, was to spend a length of time in France. We wanted to not merely visit, but to LIVE...More
My wife and I rented this property for 3 months from March this year. The owner Suzie is always on hand to provide assistance when necessary. The perfect host; on hand when you need her and invisible when you don't !

Hi Steve and Kelly. Thanks for the lovely review. The good news for your 2019 trip is there's now a new TV - sorry it wasn't here for your stay ;). I listened to what you said and took action. I hope you're both well...More
I booked our 6 week stay in the house over a year before our trip - it was my big retirement holiday. I was attracted to the reviews that described the area as real, unspoilt France.
The house itself is great, with big, airy rooms...More
The house was exactly as described, very well equipped and perfectly prepared for us. The welcome pack was a real treat too, so that we could start enjoying our holiday as soon as we arrived!
The area around Riscle is fairly quiet, with long winding...More
Le Vrai Sud is exactly what it says it is - a wonderful property in the town of Riscle with all the services you need. Suzie is an excellent host, getting the balance right between providing help and respecting your privacy. If you do visit...More
We stayed in Madam Suzie's charming village house as a base for house hunting. All I can say is that we hope to return soon and she will be our neighbour! We feel as though we have found a great mine of information and a...More

We spent three weeks in Riscle this Easter, it is a beautiful, friendly destination and the perfect place from which to explore Gers, The Pyrenees and perhaps even further afield. This is a large, stunning townhouse in the centre of the town with lots of...More
Spent 4 weeks at the Vrai Sud and used it as a base to visit Bordeaux, Biarrirtz, and Spain, visit all the local markets and just chillout. If you want to spend a holiday in a traditional French house and small town in France then...More
The Village, Riscle, with its population of only 1200, boasts 5 café-bars/restaurants. All only a few minutes walk from the house!
The main village boulangerie is run by husband and wife team Jean-Luc and Joelle who pride themselves not only on the range and quality of their bread, but on the patisserie they lovingly prepare every day of the week (except Monday when they take a well earned rest).
There's a new supermarket run by the Barr's, a local family who pride themselves on their butcher counter, cheese selection and fresh fish on a Friday. And then of course there's the oyster-man who comes from the coast. Thereafter, you've got a stunningly stylish flower-shop, a small clothes shop, a tabac, and cashpoints.
It is recommended to have a car or to hire bikes. Although busses are regular, they are few and far between!
