Wonderful view from a cosy cottage!
The view from the cottage is absolutely stunning. We were fortunate enough to have an unseasonably warm day in October so breakfast on the balcony was blissful. The cottage is clean, warm and cosy and had everything you could need. The beds were really comfy and warm. The walk up from town is steep but certainly helps get the heart pumping. Westward Ho! is a sweet little town. We had 3 teenagers with us and they all loved it. We played crazy golf and they spent hours in the arcade on the 2p machines. I would recommend looking at Google Street view before you travel so you can see where the cottage is as it's tucked away but we found it with no problems. The welcome pack of scones, clotted cream, wine and freshly pressed apple juice was a really lovely touch Thank you Adrian, it was just perfect! The dogs really loved the beach too!

Just perfect
What a find, this gem of a property with its outstanding views were just what we needed for a home from home holiday, every home comfort you could need. Westward Ho was small but lovely walks long the coast, we loved dining in nearby Appledore and the beach at Instowe was quiet and relaxed. We visited Bideford town and Bude both well worth a day out. Lovely week.

Beautiful location, fantastic cottage
I have just returned from an amazing week at Old Saltys Cottage. This cottage was wonderful and in a perfect location to explore North Devon, with beautiful views over Weddard Ho! beach. Highly recommend

Fantastic cottage with amazing views
This cottage is a real home from home, it has everything you could possibly need. It is clean and comfortable and very cozy in cold weather. The views are amazing and the sunsets are better than watching the TV. The kitchen is very well equipped for cooking and eating in. The garden is fully enclosed so perfect for dogs and children. The area is fabulous and the dog walking on the dog friendly end of the beach goes for miles. The locals are very friendly. We had fish n chips and a take away curry during our stay both of which were excellent. We visited the gnome reserve which was a lovely way to spend a few hours and to have lunch. We visited the big sheep which was fun for children and adults and admission includes a return visit for free later in the week. Westward Ho! beach is lovely although we had bad weather so couldn’t really take advantage of it as much as we would have liked. Appledore is lovely for a stroll and for crabbing, we also visited the maritime museum which was very interesting. The owner of this cottage is very helpful and nothing is too much trouble.

New Year stay
We are staying here at the moment for a 5 night New Year break. It's like home from home with lovely little touches from the owners. Great attention to detail. Beautifully furnished. Fabulous views. Comfy beds. Would definitely recommend and would come back in a heart beat. Thank you for letting us stay. If you like walking it's very hilly down into Westward Ho! Great for walking off a big lunch.

Every Silver Lining has a Cloud
This is a fantastic cottage with outstanding views. The owner should be very proud and his little touches of greeting my wife and i with scones, jam, cream and a bottle of English wine was not expected but very welcome. I tend to judge any holiday rental by how well i sleep and each night i slipped off in to a coma listening to the roar of the sea BRILLIANT ! The disappointments were the visits to the pubs. A pint of beer and a large glass of wine over £12, ( yes over twelve quid for two drinks). The only reasonably price pub is The Village Inn. Appledore is even more expensive ! The local chippy is very good ( Golden Fry) and the Hong Kong diner is real value for money. The local butchers is excellent and the bakers sell the best traditional Devon pasties i have ever tasted.

Westward Ho!
We arrived safely to this lovely cottage and we were very pleased with the gifts we received laid out for us on the table. We really enjoyed exploring North Devon, particularly Lynmouth and the many beauty spots in the area. Plenty to do and see and it appeals to all age groups. My only disappointment about the cottage was that my husband and I slept in the downstairs bedroom and it had a damp smell about it and also the lounge/kitchen floor could of been slightly cleaner , there was dog fur on it which wasn't particularly welcoming for our young grandchild to crawl about on! The view was amazing from the garden and we enjoyed using the binoculars to watch the sun set. The cottage was also well equipped with utensils etc. Devon is a beautiful part of the country.

What views!
This is a beautifully appointed cottage with views to die for over Barnstable Bay and out towards Lundy - even in the snow!! It was very cosy thank goodness and had everything we could need including a very generous 'welcome' tray. Lovely touch. Unfortunately, due to the snow, we couldn't make the most of the balcony and garden which overlooks the view. Maybe another time!
