Le Petit Bosquet

Overview
Cottage -
1 Bedroom , 2 Bathrooms , Sleeps 5
Genneteil, Maine et Loire, Pays de la Loire
Le Petit Bosquet is a very spacious end-terrace 'cottage' ideally suited for couples both young and mature, or a family of 4. With two double beds (one being a sofa-bed) in different rooms and two separate bathrooms; if, as a platonic couple you prefer separate facilities it is great for you too.

An ideal base for extensive sightseeing, walking or cycling, golf or 'wine-hunting'. For those needing to rejuvenate their batteries with peace and quiet it is absolutely perfect. Surrounded by fields, often the only sounds are that of wildlife - and the countryside.

Virtually equidistant from three local towns, all boasting weekly markets, supermarkets and other modern amenities, the property is also ideally located for visiting the many and varied attractions of the Pays de la Loire including the cities of Le Mans, Angers...

Interaction with guests
Before you arrive, we ask when your arrival time is likely to be so that we can aim to be here for you - only under exceptional circumstances would this differ. We also ask if you have any specific interests or things you'd like to do so that some of the suggested activities can be drawn to your attention. When you arrive, we show you around the property outside and do a tour of inside, drawing your attention to various things of importance or interest and are also available to respond to questions. We live on site so allowing for leading our own lives we are generally available to assist with enquiries and so on whilst you are here. Besides that, we aim to be friendly...or not, as you prefer.

The Gite has everything anyone could want and at a high standard of cleanliness, equipment, and furniture. Very quiet, and away from street lighting so the stars are brilliant. Very welcoming hosts. Highly recommended to go off season! Gite is warm and comfortable. And it's...More

About the neighborhood
Genneteil has at its heart a Norman Church which acts as a roundabout of sorts connecting the roads coming from all directions. A rural community, Genneteil has no particular claim to fame (except its history) but the locals are very friendly - especially if you take the opportunity to practice your French! Despite this, Genneteil is well placed - if it were a mountain, it would be the peak! Major Cities, autoroutes and good transport links (including rail and air) surround Genneteil on all sides - essentially less than 1 hour in any direction.

Genneteil has a dairy from which you can purchase fresh milk, cream, yogurts and other dairy products.

There is so much to see and do that it is difficult to know where to start! There are around 1000 Chateaux and many other sites of historical...

Getting around
As we are in the middle of a rural area, your own transport is essential. Public Transport (buses) do run from and through local towns but they are unlikely to be suited to tourist visiting requirements. Trains (TGV & SNCF) run from Angers, Le Mans & Tours but these are all 45mins -1hour from our location.

How to get there
Airport: Tours: 40.4 mi
Railway: Le Mans (TGV): 31.1 mi
Ferry: St Malo: 146.0 mi
From the UK we are easily accessible by road, some 3.5-4 hours due South from the channel ports of St Malo, Cherbourg, Caen and Le Havre.

If you want to see a little more of Northern France, or indeed if your preferred UK port is Dover/Folkestone then the journey from Calais/ Boulogne is around 5-6 hours. You can get to Calais & Boulogne with P&O, Sea France, Eurotunnel etc. The easiest route is the Autoroute which essentially follows the coastline Southwesterly from Calais to Rouen, then turns South towards Le Mans. We are about 45 minutes drive South of Le Mans.

The autoroutes have regular 'aires' - places to stop with basic or more extensive facilities. Whether you need to give the kids (or the driver) a break, need a comfort stop, a meal or fuel you'll find you...
